Wife and I came into town from Sacramento, heading to see mom in the Wood. I made it my business to stop by AC Barbeque. And I didn't tell mom who owned the restaurant. I wanted her to give me that honest unbiased opinion. So, the L's Loveslaw was a miss. Brisket fire. Chicken wings, fire. Ribs, mom & wife said they were fire. Baked beans, fire. Mac & cheese, fire. Cornbread was banging. Banana pudding, banging. Sauces were simply incredible, really, really good. I'm a very picky eater and I loved everything mentioned except the ribs (I don't eat pork) and the slaw (I didn't have any). Really good place food.

Pork sandwich was okay but too many bits of fat and tissue chopped up in it. Also, short man working the register using the same gloves (visibly wet or greasy) to take money, make drinks, pack food. Gross.

It's hard to find good bbq in LA, and I never expected it in a mall but I was legitimately blown away by how delicious the food was. The cornbread had the perfect level of sweetness, especially when paired with the honey butter. The chicken was nice and moist, with the bbq sauce having a deep flavor and a little kick. And I'm usually disappointed by jalapenos not having kick, but these ones had flavor and just the right amount of punch. I'll definitely be back, and it's more than worth dealing with the Century City parking lot to get a taste.
