Can’t rave enough about my recent brunch at Culina! We went post-wedding dress shopping (mine!) and sat on the patio surrounded by a beautiful garden.

One word to describe Culina: mediocre. All the items on the menu are okay or maybe even good, but nothing even comes close to being great. If you’re a connoisseur of Italian cuisine, most dishes will leave you mildly disappointed. One example is the risotto with shaved black truffle and balsamic vinegar—why even bother with the truffle when you know the balsamic vinegar will be the most overpowering ingredient in the dish? It just feels like they chose ingredients based on what sounds fancy on the menu without any care for how the dish will taste in practice. Given the overall pretension permeating this establishment, I was expecting much more. Any modest trattoria in Italy could do much better.
