This Safeway is extremely disappointing for a store located in a premium neighborhood.
The deli is painfully slow, and the employee preparing sandwiches shows zero patience when asked to explain options—acting as if everyone should already know how the process works. On top of that, two sandwiches I requested were “86’d,” wasting even more time.
Customer service overall is very poor. Most employees seem uninterested in helping customers at all. In the mornings, there is an employee whose personal hygiene is noticeably bad, which is especially unacceptable in a food environment.
One employee named Raul consistently gives attitude and provides no customer service whatsoever. There are also two individuals who appear to be shift leaders or supervisors—Carlos and another female supervisor—who show no patience toward customers and even display frustration toward their own coworkers. Both come across as constantly stressed and rude when asked simple questions about items in the store.
Overall, this location clearly lacks proper management. The service is unacceptable, staff behavior is unprofessional, and Safeway management needs to intervene at this location. This store does not meet the expectations of a grocery store in a higher-end area.

Sold me rotten muscles which ruined a 100$ meal. Yes, you usually have to pick through bivalves to take out the open ones first. I did. And cleaned them well. All of the muscles tasted like they had marinated in rot.
Edit: I upgraded the rating since I was able to get a refund.
