Political foolery, anti-labor, anti-customer. Since Long Beach passed their self-checkout law, this store not only closed their self-checkout but opens less regular checkout lanes than they did before. Plus, none of the lanes they open are the express lanes so people buying one thing are stuck behind people buying fifty and everyone is miserable in long lines. I hope playing games to inconvenience customers to make political points is worth it because Ralph’s has kept their self-checkout lines open!

So ...$14.99 cooked turkey breast? Great deal since I'm the only one in the household that loves turkey. Oh snap ..no turkey on the shelf in the deli. So...I ask when will some be ready. "We don't have it..that's why the shelf is empty". And that means? Then post a sign or something. Sad thing is, that tone is still sitting with me. If the shipment didn't come in, just say so. I've had the deli dept play a joke on me, I fell for it....and to this day we still laugh about it. I sometimes run into your employees outside of work and it's like running into an old friend.

The checkout ladies are nice, and the security guard is polite. However, when I went to get into my vehicle a large suv was parked so close to me that I had to touch her car to open my door. She honked at me twice. My driver door is broken and I couldn’t get in my vehicle through the passenger side because I couldn’t open my door far enough to get in. So I had to use a rod to open the driver door, which she honked at me for touching her vehicle again. As I was walking around my car she started chewing me out for where I parked-close to the line. Mind you, there was no vehicle beside me when I originally parked my car. Her vehicle is the largest suv I’ve ever seen. If she has to park so close to a handicapped person can’t safely enter their vehicle, perhaps she ought to place her vehicle elsewhere. It causes her zero problems to park away-the parking lot has plenty of empty spots. I don’t think I want to come back to your store. She was mean to me. Being handicapped is painful and difficult. That’s why the handicapped spots are bigger, not just for wheelchairs. Your lot is ALWAYS full in the handicapped spots. I had to park in your pick up zone. It is painful every step I take and I don’t need bullies chewing me out for parking close to the line. I do that so I can get out of my vehicle. Why don’t you put more handicapped spots. And it’s really rude to take up all those spaces closest to the store with your pickup customers. Why on earth would you do such a dumb thing? Those people don’t even have to get out of their cars. I am so mad at your employee arguing with me for touching her car. You would think it’s made out of gold or something.

I used to enjoy coming here, for the selection and convenience as it's very close for me. But since the new Long Beach law and Albertson's response of closing the self-checkout machines, I don't have the patience to stand in lines of 20 people or more waiting to check out. I saw numerous employees standing around chatting with each other; perhaps some of them would be put to better use either checking out or standing near the self-checkouts as the law now requires. Until then, I'll drive a few minutes away to another grocery store.
