I came here bc on google, it showed $; so I thought it was affordable and associated the price indicator to some of the places I go to in El Cajon, like El Cilantro, that have good meal options for $7.99 & under. I figured they’d have options somewhat close to that. Some places have $9.99-11.99 starting price for plates, which is also pretty good. I feel bad, bc the man was pretty nice and very welcoming when I walked in..I know prices are going up, but I work hard for my $ and even making $32/hr, it is hard: it’s going up for everyone & when places keep hiking up prices, inflation gets out of control. Cheapest plate option I saw was $13.99, ordered that and a very small side of guacamole. It was 1:15 pm lunch, and I paid $19.47 total for 2 so-so enchiladas w beans & rice. I feel like for lunch, that is 2 much for a low key place next to a gas station, that has 9 minimalistic tables w 4 chairs each. The food was good, but not great. Was a sign next to salsa that said limit of 2 little salsa cups per person. We are all trying to save $ especially since a certain person is tanking our economy.. I’m sorry, but for almost $20, I could have gone to Chili’s & got there 3 for 10.99 w a drink included or to my favorite Thai restaurant and got one of their lunch specials for the same price- or at least to a sit down restaurant, where I probably would have been able to get a lunch specials, including a drink and chips & salsa for the same price or less.
