What makes it even more special is the warmth you feel the moment you walk in. The staff is genuinely kind and welcoming, making you feel less like a customer and more like family. It’s the closest thing to being invited to a home-cooked dinner—where the food is heartfelt, the atmosphere is inviting, and every meal feels meaningful.

  This restaurant is such a gem and we’re so lucky that they relocated to our neighborhood. The menu features dishes from cuisines that are harder to find in LA, and are consistently delicious! They also are open during the day for a really pleasant coworking environment, and host interesting events like Ethiopian jazz night or Venezuelan brunch on weekends. I don’t know anywhere else in LA that consistently has such an intriguing line-up of events and seeks to foster a community through its programming, which is something we need so much here!

  Came here for the first time while back in my old stomping grounds of East Hollywood. My friend and I were so excited to experience and support this international spot, as we have both travelled/lived around the world. Alas, we were disappointed by the very loud live music (event in the open side room) and slow service (over an hour for our meal), and not impressed by the four dishes we selected. I sent a private message to the business, letting them know of our concerns and we'd definitely try again when we were back in town. They invited us back to try out a few of their most popular items the next day...and they knocked it all out of the park - including the bissap that was better than any I had had living in Mali!! I think we just visited on an off/overly packed even night. That sort of professionalism and customer service are everything these days, not to mention the mouth-watering cuisine. Will spread the Good News of FfA, and look forward to another visit as soon as I'm back!

  The Somali rice bowl was amazing! The chicken was incredibly soft and tender, and the rice was absolutely delicious and well-seasoned. You can really taste the care put into this dish. Highly recommend!”
