Extremely poor experience and management at this location.
A man positioned outside the entrance—blocking easy access for customers without staff help—was harassing another customer trying to enter. He refused to let her pass without payment, claiming he was homeless, had no papers, and was there to make money, while refusing to leave.
I politely entered to report this to the store manager, who defensively insisted he wasn't bothering anyone. When I explained the harassment, two other employees joined and sided with him.
As I persisted and started recording, he made an offensive gesture toward me. The employees witnessed it but directed their anger at me instead, excusing his actions. They threatened to call police because I mentioned possibly contacting ICE after his admission about papers.
They followed through, calling police to intimidate us, claiming the man did nothing wrong and that mentioning "immigration" was an illegal threat. One employee even stated I didn't know the law and that the word was prohibited. Calling police over a word like that is unprofessional and unwise.
We've been loyal customers since 1988, but they showed no concern. The man remains a fixture at the door, almost like unofficial staff—how else to explain his ongoing presence?
In my view, the staff's handling showed insensitivity to customer safety, prioritizing the harasser over those affected.
Corporate should address this unprofessional team promptly.

Terrible—avoid this spot.
UPDATE (11/21/2025): The store manager retaliated by posting a defamatory video of me on the business Instagram (@highlandpark90042). In it, she says in Spanish, "This man said he is going to call ICE on us," to which I clearly reply in English, "That's false."
The caption was false too, claiming I harassed staff and customers until police removed me from the building. In reality, I left voluntarily, called police myself, and waited about 30 minutes off-property. Officers never removed me—they simply advised avoiding re-entry to prevent escalation, as documented in the police report.
This written falsehood constitutes libel under CA Civil Code § 45 (false statement exposing someone to contempt), knowingly false and qualifying as libel per se (no special damages needed). Such retaliation against customers demands immediate corporate action.
Bad experience overall—they're retaliatory!
