Before there was a hotel, there was a saloon. In 1852, thousands of thirsty prospectors filled their glasses at the original Golden Gate Saloon. After Grass Valley was destroyed by a fire in 1855, the owners quickly adapted and sold whiskey and beer to loyal customers from a tent among the rubble the next day.
A seamless flow from the bar to the dining room and outdoor patio offers our guests the perfect mix of food and drink. Enjoy a contemporary menu with the fresh flavors of California and a dash of Mexico, utilizing the bounty of our local and organic farms. The Golden Gate menu is updated seasonally.
