  I have been going to this location for a long time. Never really had any issues until the last year or so. It seems there has been a change in management. The lady manager who always seems to be there now is rude to the staff, and they all seem scared of her. Tonight they were out of steak, fajita veggies, brown rice, and lettuce. When customers asked if they could wait for more to be made, the staff said they were done with those ingredients for the night. Keep in mind, this was 7pm on a Saturday. I pieced my bowl together with the ingredients that were left. The guy in front of me bought chips at the checkout line. I tried to order chips, and the cashier told me they "were not doing chips anymore tonight." I asked if they were out, and she said no, but the manager told her not to serve chips anymore tonight. I saw bags of chips sitting on the counter. I told her I would not have come there if I had known. I stood back and watched the staff, including the manager, serve chips to the doordashers that were picking up orders. I did not make a big deal out of it, but I decided I will not come back here until they fix their issues. The place is also filthy.

  I never leave negative reviews, but this is specifically to the manager or owner: put more staff in the schedule. You had 4 people on staff on a Saturday afternoon. FOUR. That is less than the bare minimum. They couldn't keep up with making enough food for the line. Half of the ingredients were empty. Every single surface was covered in food. Dirty pans were piled all over surfaces. The dining room was a mess because every single employee was trying to keep the LONG line of customers moving. I'm certain you already aren't paying these poor folks enough and then you leave them short staffed so they're doing likely double or more the work? Awful. You're lucky they didn't quit and walk out.

  Horrible service, Horrible Attitude. Every time I enter this building they are out of some item Portion sizes are atrocious, seems like the workers pay for the supply themselves the way they stinge out on everyone.

  I don’t often leave negative reviews, but this place is rough and has been for some time. I’ve visited a handful of times these past few months and every single time the experience has me questioning why I keep coming back. There are never enough staff - 2 people during the dinner rush. Piles and piles of dirty dishes everywhere. Food coating the counters and floors. Some foods weren’t available because they weren’t cooked. Final straw was the food wasn’t even yummy today - slimy veg and super salty everything else. Don’t think I’ll be going back.

  Who runs this place? I usually don’t leave reviews, but this Chipotle has become consistently disappointing. I understand that they get a huge rush from UCSB students—traffic is expected, lines are expected—but the level of mess and lack of cleanliness is beyond what’s acceptable for any restaurant. When I walked in, food was everywhere—on the counters, on the floor, around the prep area. It looked like nobody had wiped anything down for a while. Ingredients were spilled and mixed together, which raised real concerns about cross-contamination. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen it at this location, but this visit was definitely the worst. What made it even more frustrating was the staff’s behavior. Workers were rushing around, dropping things, even throwing dishes, creating more mess instead of addressing it. And what seemed to be the manager was just standing in the back, on her phone laughing, completely ignoring the chaos out front. No leadership, no sense of urgency, and no professionalism. I love Chipotle, but this location needs serious attention. Cleanliness, food safety, and staff management should be non-negotiable. So many food violations.
