Anyone familiar with Elena's from the 70's will tell you this is not that Elena's. The warm family eating in your mom's kitchen experience is just not there. Delicious home-cooked plentiful large plates of food at a fair price. Usually too much too finish. Now one of the highest priced of its kind. Trying to turn a mom and pop eatery into a club med experience. Reduced cookie cutter portions at an expensive price tag. Not the same food or experience. If it ain't broken don't fix it

I work super close to this restaurant. We used to dine or order regularly. I noticed last year that their menu had changed and looked different. Didn't put two and two together. I thought maybe the owners wanted to revamp their menu. During the passed year I only ordered food to go and still didn't notice too crazy of a change. My coworker and I dined in today and I was very disappointed. First off, it took a long time for us to get our drinks or even approached by the young woman that was working. She kept flirting with the bus boys in-between approaching tables. Very obvious. And let me mind you that they only had 4 tables that were occupied. Their prices have also doubled from before. They have Mexican food on the menu. The menu itself is all over the place. Why would I go to a wannabe Greek restaurant and order tacos. So strange. Also, I noticed that their food had no flavor and was off. I love lemon but every appetizer was overwhelmingly too lemony. I won't be back.
I couldn't finish my food so I asked for a togo box. I also asked for some garlic sauce to go and the waitress asked me how I wanted to pay for it, since I had already paid. At that point I knew ownership had changed and I let her know that I was not happy about paying for a tiny amount to garlic sauce. Ridiculous They ruined this place.

Our family comes to Elena’s almost every other week. It’s the best Armenian-Mediterranean restaurant in Glendale. From their juicy kabobs to their tasty hummus and falafels, it’s a place that is hard to beat. I honestly don’t have another kabob spot with the level of service Elena, who also happens to be our hostess, delivers. Great place - consistently good food - competitive prices. ::chefs kiss::

Such a delicious experience! ❤️❤️❤️ There are so many amazing options for everyone in the family — from flavorful vegetarian dishes to super satisfying plates for meat lovers. Every single thing we ordered was fresh, well-seasoned, and absolutely hit the spot.
Huge shoutout to our server, Elen! She was wonderful! So friendly, attentive, and her recommendations were spot on. Everything she suggested turned out to be a favorite at our table.
The whole experience felt welcoming, relaxed, and genuinely enjoyable. We left happy, full, and already talking about what we want to order next time. Can’t wait to come back! 😋✨

I've been going to Elena's for approximately 30 years and hasn't been in about 2 years. I went in expecting the dishes that I am familiar with and was disappointed. The lentil soup was flat, it was missing the satisfying spice in is taste. The Gyro plate was still a good portion, but they were dry and missing the familiar taste. The manager Oscar was made aware that our server "S" was borderline rude and acted as if he was doing is a favor. As I said I've been going there for years, I worked in Glendale for many years. I have never had a sub par meal there. Oscar was friendly and listened to our concerns. I will give Elena's another try, i hope it will be like it used to be.
