Joe’s Crab Shack offers a variety of favorites from all parts of the sea and shore. From its extensive menu, guests can choose from buckets of seasonal seafood, fried shrimp platters and fish dishes, as well as options from the “mainland” that include steak, sandwiches, and chicken. Guests can indulge in over-sized and creative cocktails, such as the Shark Bite which is playfully garnished with a shark toy.
Since its inception, Joe’s popularity has stemmed not only from its menu, but also its retail store. With various pieces of merchandise for purchase, including the ever-popular tie-dye T-shirt with the phrase “Peace, Love and Crabs,” Joe’s has become synonymous with the word “fun.” Unforgettable moments await at our Garden Grove location and across the nation!

First time there and our server was nice, however, I got food poisoning! Had the crab and shrimp pasta and was horribly sick the whole night. Thank God my family was not affected. It was a horrible experience for myself and family watching me suffer. Maybe more cleanliness or handwashing behind the scenes or not leaving food out.

We came in for my birthday dinner to have a boil. Highly recommended, it was super fun. The food was perfect and the right amount of food for a couple sharing dinner. The campfire s’mores with ice cream was a 10/10 dessert option to finish the night.

This is my daughter’s favorite restaurant. We travel from the Inland Empire from time to time when we need our crab fix at a decent price. Love this is a lowkey casual vibe but still offers attentive service and great food. Saddens me to see so many locations closing, hopefully this one lasts for years to come.
We were sat immediately once we arrived, made reservations just in case due to it being Valentine’s Day. Our server approached promptly and we got our drinks and apps ordered. Our server was kind and attentive so 10/10 there.
We ordered Oysters Rockefeller and the choice did not disappoint. The oysters were pipping hot and fresh. I would liken these to spinach and artichoke dip meets oyster, very flavorful.
For food my mom ordered the Crab Daddy boil and she loved it. Ordered cajun flavor with no heat. Tasty with a little tang, and matched perfectly with the seafood. Her meal came with crab, corn, hardboiled egg and potato. All of which were delish.
I ordered the Cajun boil, and had it simply steamed. I believe seafood should be enjoyed for what it is and let those flavors of the sea speak for themselves. My boil included crab, lobster claws, mussels, sausage, potatoes, and corn. Everything tasted perfect and it was fun breaking into the crab legs and lobster claws.
Our drinks were two glasses of prosecco, light and easy to drink.
Here are some areas for improvement:
1: Ask the customer if they are a Landry’s Select Club member. Sometimes being caught up in the moment we may forget. That is what happened to me I forgot, so asking us will not only allow us to use any rewards we have, but also upsell to those who are not enrolled.
2: Timing of the photographer. I appreciate the gesture and did buy all the pics she took but it was highly inconvenient. Reviewing photos and having to make payments mid crab crack is such a burden. I had to stop what I was doing, find napkins, use our wetnaps just to pay. Take photos early on, have the server inform the photog the customer is ready to close out the tab and both return together. This way all hands are clean and the customer does not have to stop eating.
Overall great experience and we will return.
