I placed a mobile order to avoid the long drive-through line and ordered a two-cheeseburger meal along with chicken nuggets, including the sauces selected in the app. When I arrived at my destination, I discovered that the order was missing one cheeseburger and all the sauces.
I called the restaurant and was told that I would need to return in person. After doing so, I waited approximately ten minutes before anyone acknowledged me, despite making eye contact with several employees. The process felt overly automated and lacked basic customer service. I ultimately requested a refund, which was processed without issue.
Unfortunately, this experience is consistent with what I’ve encountered at multiple locations along the Union City/Fremont border. There does not seem to be a reliably dependable McDonald’s in this area. One star for me for not looking in the bag, I was on my lunch break!

I used the mobile app to place a drive thru order and was told to park in their curbside parking to wait for my order to be completed. This location always does this and I cannot remember the last time my order was just handed to me through the drive thru window. I really don't mind having to do this in itself, and normally someone will come out to hand you your order within 5 - 15 minutes. Someone did come to my car relatively quickly but they had a different person's order. I told the employee that that wasn't my order so she went back inside without finding who that order belonged to. I then waited for about 30 minutes in that parking spot without anyone else coming back out. The car in the curbside parking spot next to me, who was there before I arrived, also got impatient and had to go inside to collect his order (I assume the first order that went to my car was his). I went inside a short time after him. Many of the employees saw me waiting to speak to them and did not want to acknowledge me. When I did eventually get to talk to someone I explained to her that I was told to wait in the curbside, she was initially dismissive, telling me I was supposed to have gone through the drive thru. I explained it again to her to which she apologized for the mistake and offered me a free pie. I then had to wait another 10 or so minutes because the fries weren't ready.
As someone that used to manage a fast food establishment, I get that the customers can tend to be a pain and they probably do get a lot of people coming in mad about mistakes that they as the customer made, but the employees here really need to improve the communication amongst themselves.

After 5 mins of standing at the register and watching the manager on her phone I finally got attention to get service.
