The portions were huge. We are two guys and ordered the triple kabob and potato bolani, and it was definitely enough for lunch for 3. Meat was flavorful and rice was great. Highly recommend the kabob plates. Service was fast and they give you complementary flatbread and sour yogurt dip. First time trying Afghani food so I have nothing to compare it to.

We have been going to DeAfghanan for 10 years. It was AMAZING when the owner cooked the food himself. As the years went by we witnessed the owner training different people to cook. There would be good days and bad days from the time different people cooked. Today we went for lunch, the food was sooo bad that it looked disgusting. The beef patty color looked like it was dyed with some artificial color. The kebob meats were burnt to different levels but the meats did not taste fresh. I took a bite of rice and had to spit it out because it tasted either old or uncooked. It’s super disappointing when one of your favorite restaurants go down hill like this and I hope the owner sees this message and does something about their chiefs.

The order is always messed up. You have to be very incompetent to mess an online order that is specific and clearly written. Maybe they do it on purpose….. expensive orders replaced by cheap orders. Very shameful.

We visited for an early weekend dinner and found the place quite busy. The atmosphere was a bit smoky with a strong aroma of grilled meats. The appetizers were the highlight—the Mantu and Aushak were both delicious and authentic. However, the main courses were a bit hit-or-miss. My Lamb Kabab specialty was unfortunately tough and overly chewy, though the chicken in my friend's Triple Kabab combo was cooked well. We loved the chapli kabab too. We also noticed that despite being listed on the menu, none of our dishes were served with Shornakhod. For our vegetarian guest, the Sabzi Challow was decent but didn't stand out. Overall, a mixed experience with great starters but some inconsistencies in the mains.
