We got two of their triple kabob platters with chaplee, beef teka, and murgh kabobs. Each platter came with veggies, bread, and a potato salad on the side. At first glance, I was excited about the potato salad as it actually looked a lot like Bengali chotpoti, which I’ve been craving. Unfortunately, the taste was quite different. It turned out to be a vinaigrette-based salad that was far too sour for my liking. As for the kabobs, I was disappointed overall. The tikka pieces were quite large and lacked seasoning, which made them chewy and bland. The chicken was tender but also under-seasoned, missing that savory, spiced flavor you expect from Afghani grills. The chaplee kabob was the best of the three, but even that had an occasional pungent beef smell and uneven seasoning. Overall, the meal didn’t quite satisfy the craving for rich, meaty Afghani flavors. The presentation was nice, but the taste just wasn’t there. Atmosphere seemed to be nice.
