- MJMiranda St JohnDec 29, 20251.0This store needs help. I don't know if it's management or ownership but this is one of the worst Safeways I have ever been in. The only store where I avoid certain times of day due to the lines. They are habitually out of the same things... Eggs, Dairy, Whole chickens, meat... basically food staples. They will tell you their "shipment was delayed" for whatever reason but it's happened more times in the last two years than I can count. Which means whomever is ordering isn't very good at their job. They have ONE cashier at 5pm on weekdays and the line is always backed up down the aisles. There are never enough cashiers. The lady in the floral department is always rude as hell and when you ask where something is she likes to say "oh I don't know, I don't work at this store very often" despite being there every time I go in. Their healthy options in each department have dwindled over the last couple of years. Save your sanity and go to Rays or Grocery Outlet. I guess they survive because they are the biggest grocery store in this small town but my word I cannot continue to shop there.

It's a very well managed store that always seems to be quick with getting new product on the shelves and they do a great job so messing sure the aisles are cleaned up and organized. You can tell the younger crew members have been taught well and take their job seriously. The best Safeway in this county, for sure.
