  Safeway at Folsom is clean, we'll organized, always has lots of checkers which is important because I dont like self check out. Parking is easy and it has good access to get out of parking lot.

  I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experiences at the Safeway on Prairie City Road in Folsom have been consistently disappointing. The store is frequently dirty and disorganized, with unattended stocking carts often left blocking the aisles. It makes basic shopping unnecessarily frustrating. Customer service has also been consistently poor. The cashiers often appear disengaged and unhappy, rarely greeting customers, stating the total, or offering a simple “thank you.” Communication is minimal, and it creates the impression that customers are an inconvenience rather than the reason the store exists. Accuracy at checkout has been another recurring issue. I have had to correct overcharges more than once. On my most recent visit, I was charged 10 cents for a Safeway paper bag even though I brought and used my own reusable bags. I watched the bagger briefly grab a paper bag before my wife told him we had another reusable bag, which he then put back. Somehow the charge still appeared on my receipt. It’s only ten cents, but the principle matters. These kinds of mistakes shouldn’t happen if employees are attentive. Finally, the checkout lines are consistently long because there are often only one or two lanes open. Meanwhile, other employees and managers are visible in the store but not assisting with the lines, leaving customers waiting while each lane backs up with several people. This location could be a much better store with better organization, more attentive staff, and improved customer service standards. Right now, it feels poorly managed and frustrating to shop at.

  I came here late in the evening after a long day driving through Carmichael and honestly wasn’t in the mood to shop. But the store had this quiet, welcoming atmosphere. Fresh fruit displays were colorful, the bakery smelled amazing, and the staff smiled as if they genuinely liked working there. Somehow a quick grocery stop turned into a pleasant little moment in the day.
