- XTXion TiradoNov 9, 20251.0I’m a local here in Fallbrook and love the convenience of having a good store close to home. Funds have been tight recently and I’ve come down to counting my coins. I had called customer service ahead of time to see if it would be an issue if I brought my coins in and the lady reassured me it would not be an issue to buy groceries. So my toddler and I made our way to the store, did basic essentials shopping, and headed to checkout. When we were finished I presented my money to the cashier; and if it wasn’t degrading enough having to pay with change, the cashier said she couldn’t accept it. I explained how I had called ahead and made sure it would be alright so I WOULDN’T be embarrassed. She said her system “wouldn’t register it” and didn’t offer another solution or call for a supervisor to try and help. Needless to say my son and I walked out without our groceries and are highly discouraged from this experience. The team must be misinformed, coins are legal US tender and it’s anti American not to accept. Albertsons should have more compassion for customers who may not have debit cards.
