It is my local store so I still go to it as needed but the store is messy and if you go when its busy you will spend more time in line for check out than you did shopping. Honestly, its not the employees fault, it just seems like this store is forgotten about and in a rough location. It really is one of the only local grocery options for this neighborhood but it deserves some better management.

The poor staff there are overworked and obviously oakland residents. They regularly have only one lane open despite 20 people in line. They charge more than safeways in Oakland for the exact same things. The pharmacy staff are nice, but the medicine costs more there. They just cut there hours back from midnight close to 11pm without telling anyone. I was there the night before and it was open until 12. The next night it was closed at 11. Zero notice. They are the only store in the west for grocery besides liquor stores. I am very glad costco is moving into this food desert and hopefully puts this safeway out of business. I would not recommend this safeway, or any safeway/albertsons brand to anyone who has other options. I would also not recommend emeryville.

Inside is dirty floor sticky. Good selection of produce . Meats always look off .. Lines are horrendous always!! Employees attitudes are atrocious. Between trying to find park hoping ya car dont get touched avoid drug addicts then dealing with attitude once inside...Not worth it ..Go to lakeshore its clean quiet and safer
