I consistently come across expired products and produce that’s clearly past its prime. Checkout lines are often long, and there’s rarely anyone available to help bag groceries. Management is rarely present “managing”. On a recent visit, I was using self-checkout and noticed an item ringing up incorrectly. When I pointed it out, the attendant told me to go grab a different one—even though I already had the product I wanted and the issue was clearly with their system. She was adamant I grab a different one to try and solve the problem rather than trying to keep in the correct code or solve the issue. Purchasing alcohol and certain products (like hair gel) locked in cases is a hassle—if you can even find an attendant, which slows everything down. Meanwhile, nearby stores have these products and liquor readily available for purchase without the extra steps. Needless to say, I no longer purchase certain products from Safeway - simply due to the inconvenience. Overall, the experience at this Safeway at Dublin Blvd and Tassajara feels disorganized, disappointing and increasingly frustrating.
