Never tried Panera before so I saw this and stopped in. Loved the pecan croissant with a cup of coffee (less than $4). I sat outside under an umbrella in pleasant weather! Will definitely return 👍

About once a year I decide I’m going to try Panera again and see if it is at all decent. Every time I am expecting to be disappointed and I almost always am disappointed. The number one problem is they have set it up so that you just feel like a Cog going down an assembly line rather than being served and treated as a human. Yes, you can order at the counter but you are encouraged to use the touchscreen first. If you don’t understand Panera’s jargon (which I do not) it will offer you things like “pick two“ without any explanation as to what that means. He then walked down a uninviting hallway labeled “rapid pick up” where there is a bench that you were apparently supposed to sit on and wait until you are called. You can also have them take your phone number or text you when your order is ready or pick up a pager and have that beep when your order is ready, however there were no pagers and I don’t feel like I want to give them my phone number. Eventually somebody screams your name from a high counter in the hallway and you were presented with mediocre food. The dining area is actually reasonably nice but nobody seems to be cleaning the tables, vacuuming or even looking around to see if anyone needs anything. I guess I’m still disappointed and well try again next year or wait for them to go out of business.
