I chased the Bang Bang Noodles pop‑up in Highland Park—they serve hand‑pulled noodles that are fresh and chewy. My bowl of spicy dan dan noodles had great chili heat and sesame flavor. Locals rave, saying it’s among the best fresh noodles in LA. The vibe was simple and friendly, like a neighborhood secret. Worth following their pop‑up Instagram

When I found out there is Bang Bang noodles 🍜 in West LA, I was over the moon, because the food was tasty when I had it in China. However, I left feeling dissatisfied. It didn't taste anything like the originals. The design of the store was neat though. 🤷🏼 The servers were also friendly and efficient.
The food:
- Szechuan Garlic Beef 🌶️🧄🐄 (3/10):
This was the biggest disappointment of the day. It was supposed to be their signature dish but I felt that the side dish we ordered was actually a little bit better than this. I tend to smell the aroma of my food before eating, and this didn't make me feel excited. The texture of the noodles and meat were hard. The seasoning was bland and wasn't well spread. Overall, this was just a disappointment.
Scallion Pancake (7/10):
This was much more bearable. It wasn't the best I have tried, but at least we managed to finish our dish.
Overall, if you are coming here because of the Bang Bang noodles you have tried in China, then I can't recommend this place. Come here with no expectations. Better still, be really hungry, because when you are hungry, anything tastes good. 🫣

On the expensive side for a smaller portion (>$20 for noodles with lamb). While it was good, it wasn’t the same as places like Xi’an Famous Foods or Very Fresh Noodles in New York City
