- TLToni LinderDec 29, 20252.0I am holding Albertsons accountable for not warning their customers about possible fraud and tampering with the gift cards they are selling. There was no warning in writing or verbally of their gift cards being tampered with and making them useless after purchase. I am sure I am not the first customer to encounter this fraud nor will I be the last. I purchased two gift cards for $100 each as Christmas gifts. When the recipient went to use them, they were already used by someone else who had tampered with them and took the funds out upon activation. I called the store immediately to warm them to pull the gift cards off the shelf or at least have a sign warning of the possibility of such tampering and fraud, but they did not seem to care nor did they want to warn any other customers of this scam. So I am doing it via reviews and announcements via social media. I am $200 plus $13.90 out of pocket. Albertsons did not cause the scam but they are allowing it to happen without warning to their customers.
