In the store this morning, 6:40am and customer service was not good. It took 10 mins for someone to help me in alcohol Had to walk from alcohol 3x to aisle 7 and cashier acted like I was bothering him. Before I was even able ask for help he man at 7 was in the aisle talking with his light off and while I was waiting at 6 with the light on. When he felt like it then tells me to bring my stuff to 7 which then he turns off 6 and then turns on 7. I’m not sure what was wrong with his customer service because this has never happened……..very bad service guy with the long locks in his hair.

I have shopped here quite a few times in the last few months. We continue to get old food - not just a day old. Weeks and months old. It’s also clear that the top shelves are not getting cleaned and restocked, particularly in the refrigerated section. And the produce section is often half empty.

I just went to buy chicken nuggets for my kiddo. 2lbs of the Dino shaped nuggets was $12, while at Costco they're $14 for 5lbs. I tried going to Costco first, but after driving around looking for a spot for 10 minutes, kiddo was making it clear of not liking the situation. Clearly on certain items Safeway is absolutely taking advantage of the average buyer, as there's no logical reason why less of an item should cost more. I will never again buy items like this from Safeway. I will instead buy 2 or 3 packages of Dino chicken nuggets from Costco instead, and just have a small stockpile on hand.

Concerning Behavior from Security Guard and Lack of Communication Review: I visited this Safeway location today (around 1:15 a.m.) with my brother. While shopping, everything was fine until checkout. I waited at the register for nearly 20 minutes before learning the system was down. No one had informed customers, and I had to stand there for about six minutes trying to find a staff member. During that time, I approached the on-duty security guard—the tall man who appeared to be of Mexican or Indian descent(tall and skinny)—to ask where the cashiers were. I want to be clear that I approached him respectfully because I genuinely thought he might know where to direct me. However, his behavior was extremely concerning. He seemed very restless and agitated, moving in a shifty and unpredictable way. His eyes appeared unusually dark, and it looked like there was a noticeable trace of white powder inside his nose. His speech was slightly slurred, and his energy was erratic—his voice sounded worried, but his movements were fast and jittery. Eventually, a cashier appeared and mentioned the system would be down until 1:15 a.m., offering no apology or acknowledgment of the wait. As I prepared to leave, the same security guard stood in my way at the door, questioning me even though I had my receipt and had paid for everything. He allowed a white couple to exit without issue, which made me feel singled out and uncomfortable. I recognize signs of possible impairment, and I sincerely hope Safeway takes this seriously—not only for customer safety but also for the well-being of their staff. This was an unsettling experience, and I recommend management follow up to ensure that proper supervision, support, and communication are in place during overnight shifts.
