Honestly. Front staff just never seem happy to be there. They bicker amongst themselves infront of people. Over the phone they’ll slam you on hold if you’re annoying them with questions. They’ll hang up on you. What’s more wild is that it’s the so called manager. It’s okay. I’ll keep my money.

The best! Unique place 👌 and to be honest, the best part was the attendants!thank you so much Didi! You are the best! Kind, professional and very helpful. I was surprised with the size of the plates and the price, very big portions and very good price, very tasty food. No complaints whatsoever.

I’ve always known Sakura Chaya for its lively teppanyaki show and solid in-house dining. Unfortunately, the takeout experience didn’t live up to the same flame and flair.
The bill came out to $130 , and for that price, I expected something close to the restaurant-quality flavor they’re known for. Instead, what arrived felt more like leftovers from a slow Tuesday.
Teriyaki steak – 1/5: Cold, burnt, and far from the $35.99 experience it should’ve been. My son—who’s usually a big fan of their steak—didn’t even want to finish it. That says enough.
Potato salad – 1/5: Bland and forgettable. No punch, no flavor.
Soup – 4/5: Finally, something that hit the mark. Warm, savory, and probably the best part of the order.
Sashimi – 1/5: No dipping sauce. None. At that price, I shouldn’t have to raid my fridge for soy sauce.
Fried rice – 2/5: Overcooked and dry. Isn’t this one of the dishes they’re famous for?
Wings – 1/5: Dry as the Mojave. It’s chicken—how do you mess that up?
Overall, I’d give this takeout experience a 1/5. For $130+, I could’ve gone to Pete’s Teriyaki and walked out happier, fuller, and with change left over. I expected that signature Sakura Chaya flavor, but instead got something that made me question whether the “A-team” chefs were all busy at the teppanyaki tables.
Maybe that’s the secret—dine in for the show, skip the takeout. Lesson learned.

I usually really love this spot. The food is amazing and their rice is the best. I recently went and I do admit we arrived 1-2 mins past their cut off. We were prepared for our spots to be taken by a walk in, that’s fine. However, they went to the back to check and make sure it was still open for us, they confirmed it was, walked us to the back and sat us down. The server says she is already going to take the order to the back seemed like she didn’t want to take our order even though we know exactly what we wanted we didn’t even get asked, and she told the front desk girl to move us somewhere else. There was no other space and she said we could wait 30-40 mins for the next table. Honestly the problem wasn’t that there was no space or that our seats got taken up, it was that the server didn’t want to take our orders so after seating us we had to get up and leave. It was so embarrassing and humiliating because she went to the back to confirm we can still sit down and then had to leave. We didn’t have a problem if our seats were taken, but it was confirming we can sit and then having to walk us out that felt so ugly to us.
