- BABrook ArcaninMar 17, 20261.0Upon my visit to Safeway today I was racially profiled by the self check out lady (shorter woman I believe she is Asian or Filipino, has long black hair and wears glasses) as my boyfriend and I pulled our cart up to the scanners I noticed there was SEVERAL receipts left by prior customers. So I grabbed both the ones on his machine and mine and threw them into our cart so that we don’t have to sort through god knows how many receipts before finding ours at the end of our transaction. The lady IMMEDIATELY came up to me and said “ what are you doing with those receipts?!??!” I said “Moving them out of the way so we can properly get ours!” Being questioned on something so stupid made me mad so I grabbed the receipts and basically threw them into her hands after that because I hadn’t even got the opportunity to scan my items yet this woman is assuming SOMETHING whatever it may be about my character. Lady I got a tonsillectomy one week ago today, you see what I am purchasing and you can hear the pain in my voice… what is your mojo here? I had to do YOUR job to have a proper self check out experience, if she would have removed them as I’m assuming is one of the few duties of her position at self check then this wouldn’t have been a problem in the first place. So finally I get to scan my items, in a frustrating fashion because I came to self checkout to not be spoken to in the first place ( it hurts to talk due to my recent surgery ) and at the very end once my boyfriend and I have bagged our items GRABBED OUR RECEIPTS and started to cart away she came up saying “ I’m so sorry, I’m so so sorry “ that’s not good enough lady. I said “ yeah, yeah, sure yeah “ because the fact it wasn’t just one machine it was BOTH of ours that had 2+ receipts I could tell that yes she targeted me today but she probably targets people on a daily for simply not doing the task to her own job. This all happened at approximately 4:30 pm 03/17/26 beware people!
