Serious Safety Concern During My 8 a.m. Visit I was shopping at this Safeway around 8:00 a.m. and saw a single employee operating a propane-powered industrial floor buffer in the middle of the store while customers were already inside shopping. I recorded a video because I was surprised to see this happening during normal business hours. This is a dangerous practice. Propane floor buffers run on internal combustion engines that emit carbon monoxide (CO) and other combustion fumes. Grocery stores do not have the kind of industrial ventilation needed to safely dilute these emissions—especially when customers, children, seniors, and employees are present. For context, OSHA regulates indoor CO exposure under: 29 CFR 1910.1000 Table Z-1 – Air Contaminants Carbon Monoxide permissible exposure limit (PEL): 50 ppm (8-hour TWA). Running gas-powered equipment indoors while the store is open can push CO concentrations upward, particularly if the equipment isn’t perfectly maintained or ventilation is limited. This is why most grocery chains restrict propane floor work to after hours or use electric/battery buffers instead. I hope Safeway management reviews this immediately—customers and employees deserve a safe environment at all hours, including early morning shopping.

Beer and garlic bread run for the Niner game. Guinness beer. I bought a oven ready garlic bread that was pretty good.

Since when did the Clerks stop bagging groceries. I just had a terrible experience where I always try to bag my own groceries and help. However, I have to stop and avoid holding up the line to enter my rewards number and pay. The clerk threw my receipt at me and did not bag the remainder of my groceries. I have never done this before, however I will be calling the Manager to complain in the morning. I hate this store as it does not match the small town of Clayton where people are nice. The people at checkout are alway angry and don't want to be there. It is bad enough we are paying super high prices. I am going to switch to Lucky's down the street.

ellen was very RUDE. She was monotone and told me to move my cart when the man infront of me had PLENTY of space to move and he was leaving when she said that. She was UNPLEASNT to deal with and should be reconsidered for the position if she cannot be simply polite to the customers of safeway.
