It's fast food, generally, but with a little extra flair. Of course, I got the Italian Beef (and a shirt!) and it was wet, salty, and delicious. The menu is pretty large, with lots of things I'd like to try on return. The service was quick, and the decor was dense and themed, which was fitting considering we stopped after a day at Knott's Berry Farm. It was a comforting, filling, and satisfying meal at the end of a busy day, and isn't that what fast food is all about?

Atmosphere is fun. Lots to take in. Will be back.

I ordered the Italian Beef & Sausage sandwich and a Chocolate Cake Shake, and it really hit close to what you’d get at the originals back in Chicago. The beef was juicy, the sausage was flavorful, and together they had that classic savory combo Portillo’s is known for. While nothing quite replaces eating it in Chicago, this Buena Park location gets pretty dang close and definitely enough to satisfy anyone craving the real Chicago experience out here in SoCal. Highly recommend!

I suggest having your hot dog or Polish sausage butterfly and grilled, if you don't mind a charring. The Maxwell Street Polish sausage is really good but I order my Polish sausage Chicago style which is fantastic! I only wish I could add sauerkraut. Unfortunately this is not an option.
