I really like the Urban Fare restaurant but the store is terrible. The workers wear dirty plastic gloves; you can see how dirty the gloves are, and they touch your food.
The pandemic is over. Disgustingly dirty plastic gloves are unnecessary. Wash your hands. It's pretty easy. Customers don't want grime covered fingertips on gloves touching the food or containers. If they are paranoid of touching money or products, they should find different jobs. It's 100% disgusting. Every time I come in and see cashiers wearing those filthy gloves, I want to call Coastal Health.

This superb food shop and restaurant became our go to place for breakfast, lunch and dinner when visiting Vancouver. It sold everything we needed in the way of snacks and the cafe served an awesome selection of hot and cold dishes. Portions were so big that we usually shared one between two. The butter chicken pot pie and roast beef meals were hot and tasty. Coffee and tea was good too. Well done to team running this store.

Tourists staying in local hotels should check out this place.
If you are looking for a bit of quality self catering, then this is the place to go to if you are staying nearby.
This is something of a unique store. You can buy hot or cold food. Flowers. Snacks. Fruit and more.
You can ‘eat-in’, if stools are available.
We were walking to a 7-11. Not that we like 7-11, but it was promoted on Google maps.
Before we got there, and just at the end of our block, we chanced upon Urban Fare.
It’s a bit confusing at first from the outside with 2 doors to enter.
Door 1: Is it a restaurant?
Door 2: Is it a large food shop?
It’s both😀
And it doesn’t matter which door you use really, as all paths lead to all of the parts of the store.
Hot pies and products including roast chicken.
Cold meats and cheeses to rival M&S back home.
Reasonable to expensive prices, but great quality.
You still pay a premium for some off the shelf goods though, like Coca Cola.
We settled on a selection of cheese, meats, hummus and wine to eat in our hotel room, whilst looking out at the city from our 14th floor.
This was enough for 2 people, with some left over for tomorrow.
It was really good, and didn’t break the bank - getting the above for the price of a burger and drink (for 1 person) in the hotel restaurant.
The store is very well laid out with a great selection of food.
No alcoholic drinks are available that we could see, but they have 0% versions of Guinness and Corona.
The whole place looked very clean and hygienic throughout.
The staff were extremely friendly as well.
Highly recommended 😀
