I enjoyed my late weekday lunch here. It wasn’t too crowded, and the spacious setting made it feel relaxed and easygoing. I decided to mix things up with some pasta, Indian food, and a cocktail.
Everything was cooked to order. The pasta was pretty good, nicely al dente with a tasty duck ragu, about what I expected from something under the Ask for Luigi brand. The lamb popsicle curry was flavorful and enjoyable, although the rice was only warm and the naan wasn’t really my thing as I found it a bit bland.
It’s definitely a little pricey, but this is meant to be a more upmarket food hall, so with the nice atmosphere and food coming from some well-known establishments, the pricing wasn’t too surprising. This isn’t your regular neighborhood food court, so if you’re looking for quick and cheap eats, you might be disappointed.
I’m pretty sure I’ll pop back again to explore some of the other joints.

The service here the first time was amazing, which was why we came back the second day. Very unexpectedly, the second day service was unbelievably worse. We set down for 30 minutes waiting for our server to place an order. Supervisor saw us and have let both bartenders we are looking to order. Waited for another 15, still no one came by. In these 45 minutes, we have kept waving down someone just to order a beer special for the day. I kept seeing people showing up to the bar who got their drinks firsts. When it got to our turn, the greeting was “what do you want”. The beer we wanted to support for Main Street brewing ran out. Our bartender said it will take sometime for them to grab it from somewhere else. We watched the order before us got the last can. We grabbed a different beer. Two minutes later, a tray of the beer we wanted was brought in by another server. The bartender who served us saw the look on our face, but no acknowledgement or follow up. This is bad.
I ate at pasta e Basta. I ordered the duck ragu at $29. It was very expensive for a small dish of pasta, especially in a food court that is both loud and uncomfortable with nowhere comfortable too sit.
The pasta had a good bite, which is honestly the only good thing I can say about it. I received it in a barely warm state, clumps of pasta sticking together, and the only thing I could taste was salt.
If I were in a restaurant I would have sent it back. But I'll take it was lesson learned that the new Oakridge time out for court is an uncomfortable, noisy overpriced food court with bad food.
I'm debating trying a dessert.
Update... I ordered a Parisian style flan at beaucoup, which turn down to be a very messy bowl with soft serve ice cream, a little bit of caramel sauce and a cone sticking out of it.
I complained to the assistant manager of time out about my experience, and he did really listen to my feedback and have me gift card to encourage me to try time out again.
So I will try it again.
It's clear there are still things to fix at time out.
As a side note, the parking is really confusing and they really need to improve their signage.

Stopped in for the first time on Saturday late afternoon and it was great! We took a walk around and decided on Barnacle by Bar Bravo as we wanted to try the Lobby Dogs. Yum!! We also got the “Big Tuna” sando with fries. I really enjoyed it but my friend didn’t as much as she’s not a big fan of seared tuna in general. I’m looking forward to going back and trying the other kitchens! The lineups at some spots were pretty nuts by the time we left but they seemed to move fairly quickly. We hate lines hence why we went early-ish and for the future I will avoid peak times and weekends.
It was easy to find a spot to sit but I can see how it might be harder later on once the dinner crowd showed up. I’m not too shy to ask to join an already occupied table if they have room but some may not like the communal type seating or sharing the big booths. Plenty of space outside but it was cool and damp and most people would prefer to be inside on a day like that. If we had planned on having cocktails we would’ve just sat at one of the bars but our hungover selves weren’t in the mood. There are definitely options!
We noticed that staff was very much on top of clearing tables as soon as anyone got up to leave and the bathrooms were also in good condition.
IMO, most of the low reviews given during World Cup events should be disregarded. If you showed up halfway through a game and couldn’t find a seat or even get in due to capacity, well, you really shouldn’t blame the establishment. Every place in the city that showed the matches would be at capacity at that time. It’s weirdly entitled to want a business of that model to police who is buying what and expect them to tell other people to leave so you can come in to sit down for a meal. Show up early like everyone else or go somewhere that doesn’t have TVs or big screens. 1 star reviews just because you didn’t plan ahead are uncalled for and unhelpful. Signed, someone who doesn’t watch soccer at all and avoided it like the plague. It’s not like it was a secret. The World Cup schedule was very easy to find.
Overpriced glorified food court — Completely trash compared to other locations
Having visited other Time Out Markets in Canada (like Montreal), this new Oakridge location is easily the absolute worst.
We came around 7 PM and the place was packed, chaotic, and deafeningly loud. But the real insult is the quality of the food relative to what they dare to charge. We ordered Feenie’s burger and truffle fries, and the bill came out to $30—which is a disgustingly ridiculous price tag for a burger that literally tastes no better than a standard A&W double cheeseburger. Massively disappointing quality for "gourmet" food hall prices.
As usual, typical Vancouverites will line up for 40 minutes and hype up literally anything just because it's new and shiny, completely ignoring the fact that they're paying extortionate prices for mediocre food. It’s all hype, zero substance, and people here just eat it right up because they don't know any better.
The only thing this place has going for it that separates it from a regular mall food court is the liquor license. So sure, if you want to pay $30 for fast-food-level burgers while sipping a drink in a noisy, crowded room, this is your spot.
Bottom line: Massively overhyped, wildly overpriced, and wildly underwhelming. Save your money and skip the line.
