  Would give 0 stars if I could. Despite being a large store, they’re always lacking in fairly basic ingredients and I have to go to a second store to find what they were missing. Produce is often not fresh and on the verge of going bad, all while “regularly priced”. This store has no self checkouts and checking out always takes way longer than it does at any other Save On and any other grocery store ever. Truly the worst save on in all of Vancouver. Avoid at all costs!!!

  I guess everyone has some loyalty to their local grocery stores. Factors like convenience and variety of produce are important as well as, of course, price. We like the Save-on-Foods at Kingsgate Mall because it has all these things including very friendly and cheerful service. The staff, no matter whether you’re at the cashiers, the bakery, the delicatessen, the produce area, the store manager, and so on, are always so responsive and helpful – without hesitation they will make an effort to answer your questions. Other, larger Save-on stores seem more anonymous, aloof and less friendly – but this could also be because I’m a regular at the one at Kingsgate Mall. I must admit that I really liked Buy-Low (the previous store) and was wary that Save-on would disappoint. Instead, I have to say that Save-on is much better in many ways. I love the way that Canadian products and produce are clearly marked (except sometimes the fruits and vegetables are confusing with either no country of origin or the vague US/Mexico/Canada label – but understandable because these are seasonal). I love the frequency and number of sales for card members. If you’re careful your shopping bill easily matches those of the ‘big box stores’. But best of all, and the reason why I recommend shopping here is the staff. It’s tough to be like the little corner store that knows every regular customer but Save-on does an excellent job of making your shopping a cheerful experience!

  I wish they had a self check out so I wouldn't have to make eye contact with a stranger while I'm purchasing a sole bottle of ketchup 😭 Also, it's more expensive than other grocerers

  Awesome grocery store in the area, they have a wide selection of gf and vegan things. The protein donuts in the frozen section are my fav!
