  Pricy, also selection of Asian brands seem way less than Burnaby Price smart? What is the difference between this and the save on down the street?

  This store will loot you and kick you while doing so. Looked for black beans and the only thing I found was a $9 / kg bag. (The price is $3 / kg at Walmart). No canned black beans either. Pattison-owned stores will never fail to make the customer feel like they are being robbed and cheated. Absolutely disgusted.

  [Update] I’m extremely frustrated seeing the response below from this business. It’s completely generic, clearly copied and pasted, and shows no real intention to make meaningful changes. I’m raising this publicly not for any compensation or gift card for myself, but to demand that they specify exactly what actions they will take to prevent this from happening again. If they fail to provide a concrete plan, I will escalate the matter by contacting the health inspection myself. [Original] I really want to like this place because it feels like having something similar to T&T in my neighborhood. They carry a lot of exciting Asian grocery items, including some of my favorite snacks and ice creams, which I genuinely appreciate. But I keep running into the same serious issue over and over again. There have been many occasions since they opened where I’ve bought fruits that were already mouldy or going bad. More than once, I had to throw out over half of what I purchased. I’ve also come across frozen items, like cakes, that were already expired by about a month. I understand customers should check what they’re buying, but from a basic food safety and health standpoint, these products should not be on the shelves in the first place. This isn’t a one-time mistake, it feels ongoing and systematic. I’ve brought this up to staff multiple times, but nothing seems to change. I didn’t keep receipts or take photos in the past since I wasn’t trying to get refunds, but that doesn’t make the issue any less real. It just leaves me feeling frustrated and honestly a bit cheated. I even saw mouldy, rotten strawberries on display recently (didn’t buy them for obvious reasons). At this point, it feels like something that needs proper attention from management, or even a health inspection, because it keeps happening. I really hope they improve, because the potential of this store is great, but the quality control right now is a serious public health concern.

  Wandered into store looking for avocados... which they had, although very $ (almost $6 fot TWO?!?). Store looked interesting enough to explore later... staff was pleasant.

  Awesome selection of international foods and they even have a claw machine you can win plushies at! (It's card only though) I love the soup and sandwiches in the deli!
