  Ordered a cake for my partners birthday, I told them she does not like vanilla, I want chocolate everything, chocolate icing, chocolate frosting, I couldn’t stress enough how I wanted everything chocolate and absolutely no vanilla. When I picked up the cake up it’s completely white. All vanilla, they told me “that’s just how we do it” and said the inside is chocolate like I asked for. It was chocolate, but with vanilla icing in the center. Very little actual cake inside as well. Super fun watching the birthday girl pick around at a few bites of her birthday cake. Not worth your time ordering cake from them as they won’t likely get it right, they will likely give you the opposite thing you asked for.

  Purposefully understaffed and overdue for a major renovation. It feels like the 2000s run down grocery store in here but the prices are higher than Whole Foods on many identical products. I don’t even consider the produce anymore and go right to a single section of the store and only buy on sale. If it weren’t for this one brand they carry, I likely would never step foot in the place. I have never seen even half the tills open at once or the parking lot more than 1/3 full despite it being at a major centre. The Pattinson Family has enough money to renovate the place to 2020s standards, and hire enough staff to keep the store clean and remove expired products from the shelf without me having to inform the three people in charge of the front of the store that there is expired product. They could put 5M into renovating this place, the way Loblaws has nice locations in Ontario and not even notice the money is missing but they clearly do not care about their customers, staff or the quality of what they sell. I think they added the bulk food section just to fill empty space because turnover is so low. I’d give it zero stars if I could.

  Save On Foods should be ashamed of the rotten, moldy food that they should destroy every week that ends up donated to the food bank in Esquimalt. I spend hours a week destroying toxic food that they are getting social credit for donating. They aren't blind. Nor am I. Thanks, but no thank you, Save On Foods, your donations are garbage. Mold is not food for low income people on disability, it is a threat and a risk to consume even for healthy people. Please stop donating spoiled food. Just toss it. Wanted to give zero stars, but Google reviews won't let me.

  C'mon Jim, I thought you were Canadian. 90% of the fresh produce in this store is still American, other supermarkets have mostly adapted to Canadian and other growers, why not Save on? I do not buy produce here for that reason
