I'm a 61 yo professional. I've been a customer at this location for ten years. On May 16, 2026 I experienced serious unprofessional conduct from the security guard. He stared aggressively at me throughout my visit, then—without any cause or reason—followed me out to the parking lot to confront me in a challenging, intimidating manner. ("Did you say something?!") Like challenging me to a fight. He stalks me towards the parking lot, looking for confrontation. That's pretty dangerous behavior. This guy is carrying weapons and seeking confrontation?! I'm a known, longtime customer with no history of issues. This guard appears to single out and bully certain customers. This isn't the first time—I reported similar behavior to local management before. The security guards demeanor suggests he targets people selectively, displaying aggressive body language and confrontational attitude designed to provoke and intimidate. His behavior is unsafe and that of a "tough guy". Security staff should de-escalate situations, not create them. I felt unsafe and unwelcome. I recommend management review the security footage from that evening. The video will show this guard's contempt for customers—literally laying back on the checkout machines in a relaxed, aloof state while scrolling through his phone, displaying complete disregard for his role and the customers he's supposed to serve. I've given management multiple opportunities to address this; but it seems like leaving this with local management was not a great idea, as he certainly has not changed his aggressive attitude and behavior. I guess it's time to take this up to head office for proper follow-through. Customers deserve to shop without intimidation or bullying. I'm documenting this pattern and expect action.

The company should lower their prices and be competitive with Walmart.

I love save on for the deals, but I have to mark them two stars for the stress of shopping at their store...I've started shopping at the Port Albernie Savon foods for about 6 months, after I moved close by, and I shop every week at save on I don't put money into any other grocery stores. But lately I've been very unimpressed with the stores system that registers sales. It seems every single time I go there I get charged full price for things that are on sale. I'm a single mom without a vehicle, I'm also on a disability income and so getting those deals means everything to me and my family to be able to get through each week and be able to eat. It may not seem a lot to the store or the cashiers or the manager but it adds up weekly constantly getting charged full price for items that are supposed to be on sale and only able to notice it once I come home. I called in to speak to the manager about one receipt they said come in and we'll correct it well when I went into the store I was treated as if I was lying being discriminated against and questioned on whether or not I had picked the proper items that were on sale, gas lighting me. I'm a single mother on a budget I always check the prices and I pretty much only buy things that are on sale, and I have to come back to the store every single time there's an error who has time for that especially if you come to the store and are going to be discriminated again and treat it as if you're an idiot... I mean the customer service did refund but when I went back that day I was charged full price for another item I went back today and I slowly asked the cashier if we can go through each item to make sure that everything was on sale and I still felt rushed and lo and behold I got full charge price for another item when it should have been on sale.... I know the manager said it's human error and sometimes their system isn't working but if it's constantly happening every single time a customer checks out perhaps the store needs to put some time and effort and money to correcting the system or hiring someone in Tech to prevent these constant errors. You would think a store as established a Savon foods would be able to afford a proper system that registers their sale items. Truly a disappointed customer. Specially in these times while grocery prices are skyrocketing as a Canadian citizen I wish I could put my trust in my country and their grocers but it looks like I'm going to have to stand at the till and double check every single item from now on.
