  We didn’t feel like cooking today, so we decided to stop by for some Chinese food. Always delicious and great value!

  Ladies in the cafeteria... One rejected my free kids meal because she claimed it was dine in only, even though it didn't say that on the ticket. I had to go to work, I didn't have time to dine in. Came back today, can I use this coupon? "Unfortunately no, it expired Aug 15, a week ago. They are only valid for one week." And ripped it up and threw it out infront of me. Yeah I get that it says one week on the ticket, but the promo is still running, there's signs everywhere in the store. There's one nice girl, so I only order food when she's working. The rest, forget it. Another time I ordered a chicken parmesan from the deli. She picked one, packaged it and it came to $11 for one chicken breast. I get that its cooked and ready to go, but jeesh! Nevermind. And gave it back to her. I'll get a prepacked meal down below, or a tray of sushi or a sandwich instead.

  As a dry goods store, this Q-foods is ok but there’s no eating fresh here, on a Friday afternoon. Exceptionally greasy chinese food, unnatural sauces and the chicken is dry as styrofoam. Then for dessert we had a fermented Western Family fruit tray with dip. Worst store of the chain.

  It’s fascinating that this store is owned by the same parent company as Save-On-Foods, yet somehow manages to charge noticeably more for many of the exact same products. I feel like I’m paying a “nostalgia tax” every time I walk through the doors. The whole place also feels like it was designed specifically for retirees. The product selection, the atmosphere, and even the pace of the store all seem geared toward an older demographic. If you’re looking for trendy ingredients, international foods, or much variety, you may leave wondering if you accidentally walked into a grocery store from 1998. That said, the store is clean and generally well organized. I just can’t get past paying more than I would at its sister company for what often feels like a smaller and less interesting selection.
