I’ve shopped at this store for years because it’s within walking distance and, despite being smaller, it carries a great selection of products. Unfortunately, I’ve had repeated negative experiences with a couple staff members over the past couple of years. While many employees are friendly, helpful, and professional, there are some who seem annoyed when customers ask questions or request price matching—even though the store advertises price matching as a service. Today I was trying to price match using the Flipp app, which Save-On-Foods employees have previously recommended. I was having trouble finding the item in the flyer, and was being laughed at rather than helped. When I showed the cashier what I was trying to do, I was simply told, “Well, it always works for me.” She was no where near kind and just wanted to escalate the situation rather then help and de-escalate. I’ve previously spoken to management about another employee and, unfortunately, I’ve continued to have similar experiences. It’s gotten to the point where I avoid certain cashiers altogether because I don’t feel comfortable interacting with them. It’s disappointing because the store is convenient and many employees provide excellent customer service. However, customer service should be consistent, and customers shouldn’t feel unwelcome for asking questions or using services that the store promotes. If you want a store to quickly grab your items and be in and out go here but if you have any questions or need help i’d recommend going somewhere else or to a different location!

Jacked up prices and an empty store. Go save on somewhere else where prices are actually not a ripoff. What a disgrace of a store. Stay away.

"I’m sorry" – yes, this is the simplest phrase that should be said to a customer to ensure satisfaction whenever a mistake or negligence occurs in cashiering and customer service. Unfortunately, what I have experienced multiple times, and encountered again today in a different way, has deeply disappointed me. Today, I went to buy two bowls of soup. The cashier, a very young and clearly inexperienced girl, asked about the size. Despite me explicitly telling her they were "Small," she decided to double-check with another staff member. That staff member bluntly insisted, "No, it's Large." I had to ask them to please go and actually check the sizes. When she returned to the counter holding both a small and a large container, she finally admitted, "Yes, it is Small." What frustrated me the most was that after making me wait and proving her wrong, she simply walked away without a single word of apology. While the young, trainee cashier did say sorry, the other staff member—who actually caused the issue—showed pure arrogance and left without apologizing. In a country like Canada, and at a well-known store with this reputation, such behavior is completely unacceptable. Every time I visit this specific location, I leave with a negative feeling due to the sheer inexperience and lack of training of the cashiers. I used to tell myself it would be my last time shopping here, but after today's experience with this level of rudeness and poor customer service, I have firmly decided never to step foot in this branch again. Saying "I am sorry" is the most basic and fundamental courtesy. If the staff do not know it, they urgently need to be taught how to respect customers.

The teller that helped me was exceptionally kind and polite. It's very nice to see. Great customer service.
