  Don’t pay attention to any of the negative views. I run into these people when I’m shopping and there are nothing but a bunch of whining, complaining snotty snot knows little brats that should go shop at no-frills with the rest of their kind

  Difficult website to navigate. Looking for the refillable jug water station. Just wanna know locations. Searching every single possible word. When you have to call the store to get the information, that’s really annoying.

  I’ve been a regular customer of this store for the past 5 years since moving to Whonnock. I’m retired, and do the majority of shopping because I’m also the cook in our household. I’ve come to know many employees on a first name basis, and enjoy our interactions while checking out. On the rare occasion, my wife will accompany me, as she did this past Saturday, August 15th around 5:30pm. Our plan was to quickly buy a few snacks for a movie night we had planned that evening. Our basket contained the following: Package of gravy. Two small chip dips Three bags of Lays potato chips(3for $10) Bag of cheesies Peach crepe dessert (rare) I 2l bottle of soda 2 Rib Eye steaks (on sale) Bacon Twelve items that all fit easily into a basket. Some items were not planned, such as the steak, and the dessert. We proceeded to the express checkout without actually counting the items in the basket, but assuming it wouldn’t be an issue; We were sadly mistaken. After waiting our turn, I began to place products on the belt and Charles had waved me over to his till, but because I’d already began, I offered the woman behind me to go. In hindsight, that was my second mistake. Once my basket was empty, the employee behind the counter snapped at me that I’d gone over the limit of 9 items. In front of my wife and other customers, she started to berate me, saying, “I’ve discussed this with you at least four times!” That was a blatant lie. At no point in the past five years, has anyone reprimanded me for “cheating the limit at the express line”. When I told her that, she called me the “liar”. She also stated that she’d allow it just one more time. At this point I was already putting all my items back into the basket. This was absolutely ridiculous behaviour from someone whose job it is to provide customer service. My wife asked if this was the way all the staff treat customers. As it turned out, we were guilty as charged for going over the limit by 3 items, but for her to embarrass a frequent customer with lies, and accusations in a bid to shame them, in front of other people, was unacceptable. In the past I’ve been very friendly with this woman, even though I think she’s been a bit rude at times, like referring to me as “Bud”, and her overall aloofness. As you can imagine, this experience has made us question where we shop in the future.
