    I bought a berry tart from the bakery section at Save-On-Foods today. I originally picked one from the display, but the employee said, “Oh, we already have a packaged one,” and brought one from under the counter instead. Unfortunately, it was clearly old. The tart shell was completely soggy, the cream had separated from the crust, and the filling itself tasted dry, hard, and stale. It honestly felt like they were trying to get rid of old pastries instead of selling fresh ones. Very disappointing experience. I used to have a much better opinion of this store. If an employee tells you “we already have a packaged one” and pulls it from under the counter instead of giving you the one from the display, be careful — there’s a good chance you’ll get an old dessert. Sadly, I had already driven far away before discovering how bad it was, so returning it wasn’t worth the trip.

    This review is about cash register On May 3 at approximately 8:30 PM, I made a purchase at this store. There were only two cashiers available. After I had been waiting in line for about 10 minutes, the cashier at my till closed the register and asked customers to move to the next one. This should have been communicated before customers had already waited in line. As a result, I had to join behind customers who had arrived after me at the second till, which was frustrating and inefficient. At the second register, a cashier named Sofia assisted me. She was very polite and helpful, and I appreciate her professionalism. Please ensure that staff clearly communicate register closures before customers commit to a line, and that consideration is given to customers’ time. If a register must be closed urgently, staff should request a replacement cashier or provide an immediate alternative to minimize disruption.

    Service quality has gone downhill. I had not been there in a while and all we went there for was to buy the rotissery chicken combo. Employees didn't know about the combo, despite the sign being there... they could also barely communicate in English. After finally getting the combo items from the food section, the same issue happened at the cashier level... all of that for an extremely overcooked, super dry chicken and tater tots... so disappointing and frustrating. Especially because it's not a cheap place to buy foods....

    The store is great other than it’s impossible to get fresh bread. So it’s a bit annoying that’s it’s not a one stop place. The other negative is the ready made lunches. Anything with shredded chicken in it is a pass. It’s unfathomably dry. It’s a toss up if any of the poke bowls will have rock hard avocado.

    Update: Interesting how the customer service team replies to say they would like to look into. They are fully capable of doing so if they would like but they won't. I have sent 4 emails with all the details and have called the service number multiple times to only be provided that due to it being an issue with resource protection that no one is able to assist in the issue. It's quite simple to understand. The store and its management have a major issue with incorrect pricing on their shelves and major egos. I was simply pointing those mistakes at checkout. Store management didn't like this as it looks bad on them. They then made up some false narratives about me to make it sound like I'm the problem and tell their head office that they have fixed the issue. The store is effectively just silencing people who experience issues and not actually being proactive about situations. ________________________________________ OG: I had a very disappointing experience with this store. During a recent visit, I was charged an incorrect price for an item. When I contacted management to resolve the issue, instead of addressing the mistake, they responded by making inaccurate claims about my behavior and suggested I was not their “ideal” customer. I found this both unprofessional and upsetting. I then tried to escalate the matter to head office, but encountered repeated roadblocks and received no meaningful response. Mistakes can happen in any business, but what matters is how they are handled. In this case, the lack of accountability and poor communication were concerning. Based on my experience, I would recommend shopping elsewhere that acknowledges errors and treats customers with respect.
