Very, very unhappy with their Drive Up and Go service. Always substituting something when I have selected no substitutions. Forgetting items that I ordered and paid for. It doesn’t save me time when I constantly have to go over everything I ordered and call them for all the mistakes they’ve made on my orders. This happens every time I order thru the Drive Up service. Not worth it!!!

Produce scale was "accidentally" rigged. I'm giving three stars because they are usually quite friendly, there is plenty of parking, and the produce is generally good. However, I usually shop across the street at Smart and Final because their prices are lower, sometimes significantly. Last time I went in, I bought some produce, which I weighed. When I checked out, I noticed the weight was exactly 1lb heavier. I paid for my groceries, and pointed out thata scale in the produce section was wrong. I wouldn't have made a thing out of it if they had simply acknowledged what I said and offered to at least look into it . I went back to double check it myself, and the scale was, indeed, off by exactly one pound. At this point, I got back in line to get a refund for that one item. The manager weighed it on another register scale and said the original register was right, which I already knew. I finally had to physically show him which scale was wrong. Before he tested it, HE REMOVED A PLASTIC CONTAINER THAT HAD BEEN PROPPING UP THE BOTTOM, CAUSING THE NEEDLE TO POINT TO ZERO AND HIDING THE FACT THAT THE SCALE WAS UNDER-CALIBRATED. He said it was an accident, which was okay. I gave him back the grapes and started to leave, when he shouted that I hadn't paid for the groceries, which I had. He said he suspended the sale or something which canceled the entire order, I guess it was to much to hope that I would be thanked for pointing out that the scale was mis-calibrated. He kept insisting that it was an accident. I just wanted him to admit that the scale being off by exactly 1lbs. and yet pointing to 0 was an easily misunderstood coincidence. Either mistake could have been an oversight, but the bottom of the scale being propped exactly enough to read 0, hiding the calibration error looked a little sus. The manager wanted me to wait while he re-rang the rest of my groceries, for which I had already paid. I said to skip it.

Update: I went to Albertsons and April the Operations Manager refunded me my money for the cake. She was very nice and apologized for what happened to my cake and told me that they pride themselves in being able to make amazing cakes. Just because of how she responded I will change my rating because she is very professional and respectful. She previously helped me with an online issue as well. I just moved to Bakersfield and I always get my birthday cakes from Albertsons. I usually get my cakes from the one off of white lane, but my sister lives closer to the Mount Vernon location. I decided to get my husband’s 40th birthday cake from here and seriously regret ever coming to this location for a cake. I will NEVER! Buy a cake from this location again. I asked for a simple cake that I’ve used for many years at different locations. All I ask for is a white cake with buttercream frosting and fresh strawberries in the middle. I’ve never had a cake fall apart EVER! So when I picked the cake up everything looked fine, and when we got to my sister’s house I seen there was a tiny crack in the middle. I didn’t realize that inside the cake was falling apart and had been falling apart. It was a pure mess!!!! I’m so angry because this was my husband’s 40th birthday and I wanted his cake to be perfect. If the baker couldn’t accomplish it then they should’ve contacted me and told me. I’m going back tomorrow and ask for a refund.
