Staff is always helpful. They usually carry most things I'm looking for. Produce is great. Bakery cakes are inexpensive and delicious. My go-to for birthday cakes for my kids. Only issue is have is sometimes the lines get long, but they usually get another register open quickly.

Extremely inconsistent, dishonest, and unprofessional customer service at Western Union counter My friend and I have now had multiple negative experiences using the Western Union service at this Albertsons, and the inconsistency and attitudes of the staff are unacceptable. My friend is waiting for her ID to come in the mail. Albertsons has previously cashed her Western Union transactions without an ID as long as the password was provided. This is something they have done for her before and something they do for other customers, so this was not a new or unusual request. On one visit, we walked in and without even checking, the male employee at the counter immediately said, “Western Union is down. It’s been down all day.” We left and went to Walmart, where they do require ID. After that, my friend called Albertsons back... The woman who answered the phone was polite, checked for herself, and confirmed that Western Union was in fact up and running. Less than 15 minutes had passed since we were told that it was down. We returned to the store and informed the same employee who had lied to us, that we had just confirmed it was working, and he begrudgingly agreed to process the transaction. Today, January 16th 2026 between 4pm & 5pm, two female employees flat out refused to process the transaction. One claimed something about not having a “register” and refused to open one. The other employee, who did have a register I guess, simply didn’t want to do it. When my friend asked for help, the first employee (who said she didn’t have a register) response was: “I’m not going to make her do anything she doesn’t want to do.” That statement alone is astonishing. Refusing to perform a standard job duty with no legitimate reason is not acceptable customer service. I understand that cashing Western Union without ID can be at employee discretion— but discretion should be based on policy and risk, not mood, laziness, or personal discomfort. Many places require an ID, which is why we’re forced to utilize Albertsons until hers comes in the mail. The problem here is that you never know what answer you’re going to get, even within the same store, sometimes within the same hour. Staff have lied about the system being down, given excuses that don’t hold up, and acted irritated simply for being asked to do their job. My friend has always been polite and reasonable. The only time she spoke up was after being repeatedly dismissed and treated poorly and frankly, it was deserved. She told the two girls today that they “needed to adjust” their “attitudes”. Otherwise, she’s been polite and certainly more “professional” than the employees! Albertsons is a higher end, more expensive establishment in comparison to its competition, yet the customer service we’ve experienced has been degrading, dismissive, and deeply unprofessional. If this location offers Western Union services, staff should either follow a clear, consistent policy or stop offering it altogether, because this treatment of customers is not okay. I don’t want to assume the worst but it honestly feels like we’ve been discriminated against. What other reason do they have to behave the way they do? I sincerely hope Albertsons takes this seriously and figures out a solution. Very disappointing.
