TWO DIFFERENT RESTAURANTS THAT SHARE THE SAME BUILDING
Lamplight lounge boardwalk (located upstairs) is casual dining, with limited menu (mainly apps)
Lamplight lounge (located downstairs) is table service with full menu
Made the mistake of mixing the two up, and ended up at Lamplight Lounge Boardwalk instead of Lamplight Lounge. I utilized the reservation system through the app and was seated within 10 minutes
Overall impressions, menu was limited and we were placed towards the back (near the exit) so we didn't get a good view of Pixar Pier. There was plenty seating available though so probably could have been placed somewhere with a better view if I requested it.
Service, was alright.. nothing that wowed us. We noticed that all the workers looked unhappy, which made the atmosphere feel unwelcomed. Service in between was rather slow though. We didn't receive our drinks until the food arrived, and our server checked up only one time after taking our order (no big deal)
Initially we decided to dine here becausd we wanted to try the Lunar New Year menu items (Mongolian beef) but were told it's only available at Lamplight Lounge. My boyfriend and I ended up ordering the lobster nachos to share which were good. The portions say it's an appetizer, but even between two people we were barely able to finish. We also each got our own mocktail.. for the price, wasn't expecting to pay almost $50 for an appetizer and 2 drinks, but it is Disney so what can you expect? They do offer a small discount if you are a Magic Key holder!
As a first time diner, the overall process felt very confusing. If I were to come back, I would learn from my mistakes and definitely would make the effort to ask to be seated somewhere with a better view. There are definitely better food options around the park that won't break your wallet, but for the ambiance it wasn't too bad

It's pouring rain and they are making everyone wait outside. The hosts are rude, but warm and dry in the very spacious foyer. When I asked if I could check us in early, the host (who treated the front door like a bouncer) allowed myself to go in and made the other 2 in our party wait outside. When I approached the desk, the taller host was very sweet while the other informed me they weren't taking early check ins. I totally get it, i'm sure everyone with a reso was hoping to do the same. So back out into the rain we went.
We were sat 10 minutes after our checked in time. They were going sit us outside... because the lounge is mostly outside, but covered. They were kind enough to accommodate my request to stay inside. So beware- the pic that is used to represent the Lounge is deceiving. I will say, since they have quite a bit of unused space in the foyer they probably could put several 2 tops for dining.
They have an impossible burger, but not oat or almond milk.... and apparently not coffee mugs. Order coffee and a cocktail- no water offered. Our server was an order taker, not a person of service.
The bao bun and potato skins were delicious, came out quick, hot and flavorful.
Kitchen seems well run. Maybe the Chef knows a front of house manager...
We ordered 2 apps- no side plates-
We waited for our server so we could ask for some. She was obviously put out. Not check back on food quality. Melvin the server assistant, was doing a great job clearing plates and was very pleasant. Andrew, the server next to us was also doing a great job with the table next us. He was engaging and stayed close to his tables.
We ordered the rosemary lemon chicken, the impossible burger and regular burger. Our silver had been cleared, so we had to wait for our server to come back and ask for it, along with more drinks and water.
The food was good. Not exceptional, but good.
In conclusion..... dont waste your time or money here.

Perfect place for a great meal in the middle of California Adventure that also provides a getaway from the crowds. I’ve always wanted to try Lamplight and we were able to snag a last minute lunch reservation. Reservations are an absolute must here. The restaurant stretches out over the water with wonderful views of the park all around. We loved the appetizers! Specifically, the potato skins and bao buns. They also have a pretty solid drink menu and you can take drinks to go with you when you leave into the park. This is a wonderful way to take a break from the busy park and enjoy a nice meal and drink. Service was excellent. Loved it and absolutely recommend if you’re spending the day at California Adventure.

We arrived before our 1.30pm booking, we weren't seated until 1.50pm. It was chaos out the front, the app wasn't working correctly and we don't have American phone numbers so didn't receive a text our table was ready.
The whole calling out names when tables are ready is painful, it’s so loud almost impossible to hear. Our host was pleasant however service wasn't memorable, we barely saw her. The food took ages and came out cold which is a shame because there were staff walking around everywhere, but no food was coming out. I had the chicken and the sauce on the plate was so cold it had a film on.
Carlos who as refilling drinks was absolutely fabulous! Five stars to Carlos 👏🏻 There was a massive table of kids (we assume was a birthday party) and they were wild. Using their cutlery as drum sticks, screaming and running around. Eventually one of the mums who were just standing around watching started yelling trying to ask them to be quiet. It really ruined the “fine dining atmosphere”
The meal ended up being about $300aud and really I wouldn’t bother going back! We only booked because of the rave reviews online however it was lack luster! We had nicer food from quick service restaurants.

If I could give the place zero stars I would! Lamplight Lounge should get rid of rude employees like Jazz! While I was waiting to be seated the person was extremely rude at guests! She was not friendly and even approached me while I was waiting on the outside of the door and asked me what I was doing all while gossiping about guests and making fun of children with special needs! Why would anyone hire this individual to work at a Disney park! She is an embarrassment to this establishment and they need to fire her! How dare she treat not just guests with rude demeanor, but mock people of certain needs! Yes, I took a picture of this disgusting individual for treating people like garbage! Get rid of her! Or if you happen to eat at this restaurant stay away from her! She is a disgusting individual for making fun of families!
