We booked Café Orleans at Disneyland mainly to get access to the reserved Fantasmic viewing area and that’s really the key thing to understand before going. You’re not paying for an actual “seat” you’re paying to get into a roped off section where you still sit on the ground. It’s definitely more convenient than waiting hours but it’s not a premium viewing experience. Our bill came out to about $300 for 2 adults and 3 kids which felt pretty steep for what we got. The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere in New Orleans Square but the food didn’t feel worth the price. Nothing we had really stood out especially for what you’re paying and the quality was disappointing. The kids’ menu was particularly rough. The “vegetable crudités” was literally two celery sticks and two carrot sticks and honestly I don’t know many kids who are excited about celery. The fruit option was just a single cutie. The fries for the kids were cold and clearly old which made it even more frustrating. The kids dessert was whipped cream and sprinkle!!! 🤦🏽‍♀️ Service was fine but overall the experience felt like you’re mostly paying for access to the Fantasmic viewing area rather than a quality meal. Bottom line worth considering if you want a guaranteed spot without camping out but go in knowing the food is pretty underwhelming for the price.

Came for an early dinner and booked in advance (highly recommend). Seated fairly quickly, amicable staff. Overall, food was okay. The Shepard pie was good and a bit spicy. Gumbo was decent but missing bigger chunks of meat. Pasta noodles were a bit cold and hard, shrimp seemed okay. Kid meal was a decent portion.

Good food, but terrible acoustics and awful service. We were seated next to a family with a 5-7 year old who screamed through the entire meal. Not surprising that the waitress avoided our table, but with no offer to reseat us and minimal attention from the staff, we just had a miserable, but expensive, hour. Definitely do not book for a pleasant midday break.

One of the best dining experiences we had during our two days at Disneyland! We ordered the Shepherd’s Pie and Chicken Pasta- both were hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The service was fantastic, and the highlight for us was the no-bake cheesecake slice… so good! It does get pretty busy during the day, so I’d recommend booking in advance through the Disney app. Totally worth it. With limited healthy, full-meal options in the park, finding this spot felt like such a win. We went for lunch and even tried to come back for dinner, but couldn’t get a reservation. Highly recommend- don’t miss it!

We had a very disappointing experience with the host staff during our recent visit to Cafe Orleans at Disneyland in Anaheim. I was able to secure a Friday 8:20 PM reservation, which was difficult to get. We intentionally booked later in the evening since we were told the restaurant is a great location to potentially enjoy dinner while catching the fireworks. At check-in we were told we would need to wait briefly, which was completely fine. When our table was called, I politely asked if it might be possible to sit inside, since it was a chilly February evening and we had two children under 5 with us. The hostess told us the only option was the patio, or we could wait another 30 minutes for an indoor table. Since it was already late for the kids, we accepted the patio table. Unfortunately we were seated directly behind a large tree, which completely blocked the view. When I asked if there might be another table with a more open view, the hostess (who identified herself as Karen) responded that it would be another 30-minute wait and added that they are “a restaurant, not a show viewing experience.” While I understand that fireworks viewing is not guaranteed, the tone felt unnecessarily dismissive and unwelcoming. To be fair, our waiter was excellent — attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the meal. The food itself was average. We ordered the gumbo, which was just okay. The kids’ chicken tenders were extremely hard and over-fried, and my child didn’t want to eat them. However, dessert was excellent — the crème brûlée tart and lemon cheesecake were both delicious and easily the highlight of the meal. Shortly after we were seated, multiple other tables became available within about 5–10 minutes in areas that would have worked better for our group, even though we had been told it would be a 30-minute wait. Later, when the fireworks started, I briefly held my child so she could see while we were finishing dinner. Host staff approached again telling us she couldn’t stand on my lap or the chair. When I stepped toward the fence for a moment to let her see, another hostess wearing a mask immediately told me I couldn’t stand there either, even though the restaurant was nearly empty and we were not blocking anyone’s view. Disneyland is known for creating a magical and welcoming atmosphere, but unfortunately the hospitality we experienced at Cafe Orleans did not reflect that spirit. There are many wonderful dining options inside Disneyland and Downtown Disney that provide a much warmer experience. Sadly, based on this visit, Cafe Orleans will not be one we return to.
