DO NOT COME! Or Come and expect to be treated horribly!
4/2/2026 at around 11:00 AM, I placed a mobile order through the app and went to pick it up at this location.
When I arrived, there were no other cars in front of me or behind me. At the speaker, a male employee instructed me, “Please move to the next window, and I’ll take your order there.” This immediately felt unusual, as I have been ordering from this exact location for over 10 years. I live in Alhambra, and my family has operated a business here for years. I am extremely familiar with the standard process: order at the speaker, pay at the first window, and pick up at the second window.
However, since I was in a hurry to get to work, I followed his instructions without questioning them.
When I arrived at the next window, it was closed. I then pulled forward to the following window, where a tall, heavyset, middle-aged male employee (Hispanic) shouted at me—he did not speak normally, he yelled—telling me to go back to the speaker and place my order. His tone was aggressive and hostile. I know the difference of being loud and being mad. I explained that I was simply following the instructions given to me at the speaker, then he ignored me. Kept repeating, "what's your order? what's your order? what is it???"
After that, a younger male employee handed me a Fanta. He appeared to be wearing a headset, so I initially considered asking him whether he was the one who gave me the earlier instruction. However, his tone was polite, so I decided to let it go and not escalate the situation. Every body makes mistakes. And, that's ok.
Unfortunately, what happened next was completely unacceptable!! And shocking!!
The drink he handed me was clearly mishandled. The entire lid of the Fanta was covered in soda—not just a few drops, not just wet, not just by accident, but COMPLETELY SOAKED. Liquid was pooling all over the top of the lid. He also handed me an unusually thick stack of brown napkins, as if he already knew what he had done. I am not even exaggerating when I say the lid was completely covered in soda. It felt intentional and retaliatory.
I regret not taking a photo at the moment, but I was extremely upset. I immediately decided that this would be my last time ever visiting this location. I threw the drink on the ground at the drive-thru and drove away without taking the rest of my order.
I want to be very clear: I do not need a refund. This is not about the money. This is about the way I was treated—being yelled at by one employee and then seemingly retaliated against by another. I genuinely do not understand what I did to deserve this kind of treatment. The entire experience was disturbing and disgusting.
In addition, my family runs an after-school program in Alhambra and Monterey Park. Every year, we have around 100 students who visit this location (one of them) during winter, spring, and summer breaks. We reimburse them as a reward when they bring back receipts or photos of them dinning in. I have already informed my family that starting this year, actually today, we will no longer support or encourage any visits to this location.
I am extremely disappointed. I will not be returning, and I will not recommend this location to any of my friends, family.
This experience was honestly quite shocking and disgusting!
Note: There are some great employees. There’s a middle-aged Hispanic lady who is incredibly nice. From the speaker’s perspective, I can tell she’s passionate about her job. Another younger lady, Itziara? I hope I spelled her name correctly. She’s also an awesome employee. This isn’t a one-time service. These two ladies are awesome, and the service is consistently good, so I remember them. Those two guys, on the other hand, are horrible and disgusting!
