- HPHedda PhanDec 28, 20251.0This store suddenly started implementing a limit of 6 of the same genre of item you can buy (even if it’s different types of cereal!) but they don’t have any signs up so we didn’t find out until we were checking out and the cashier refused to let us buy our groceries. Yelled at us about “wiping out [their] shelves.” Just this store! It also seems to be arbitrarily enforced against darker skinned people as I observed others shopping in bulk, the reasoning being they think they’re reselling them online (this was stated to our faced). FYI, we realized most items are actually cheaper on Amazon (hence no one would try to resell), so save yourself the humiliation of being denied your groceries at checkout, and shop somewhere else! Disappointing, since my family has been coming here since before I was born. I never write negative reviews but I’ve never watched my family be racially profiled and humiliated like this.

They seem like they HATE their jobs. Compared to Trader Joe's or Andronicos up the street. I also dislike bushwhacking across the parking lot when I'm walking to this store from the neighborhood. It should have its storefront on the sidewalk like the Rockridge Safeway; offer more dignity to pedestrians. The store is dated but the tiresome human interactions are compelling my review here, just tiring. Despite this I come here all the time because it's so convenient on foot, just two blocks away. Shopping here is a chore, it doesn't make me stoked about eating. So, yeah, disappointing compared to what it could be.
