This location employs customer facing individuals in the Deli department who do not speak or understand American English. Ordering from the Deli has been a nightmare from the time I moved to Alameda in 2016. Not only is there a language barrier, the workers have been extremely rude. I have spoken to managers on several occasions. However, the managers are just as bad as the workers! I have decided that I would rather shop at Nob Hill, Encinal Market, and The Berkeley Bowl from today on.

I at times cry to myself when realizing I am unable to get everything on my grocery list in order to feed my family. Snap benefits barely help to cover even 1/3 rd of your grocery bill. I wish we had a WinCo here close by Oakland, there are only two in the state of California, which is located in Pittsburg and Brentwood. The Brentwood store is 24 hrs. It's difficult to access if you live an hour away and if one doesn't have reliable transportation. But, here you get triple the amount of groceries for the price you pay anywhere in the bay area east bay.what I do like about this Safeway is they are open until 2am every night and they are always stocked up on everything they sell. Only one time I was treated poorly when I was injured and I needed a granny cart as I was on crutches and the cashier had a major attitude as if I were faking and trying to steal back in 2024 . That really hurt me to have been treated in that manor. Why would anyone lie about a disability wether temporary or permanent?
