  Update review***: They responded to this review within a couple of hours providing a phone number and email but I won’t be reaching out privately. What I shared below is exactly what happened. To be clear, I’m not trying to assume intent or label the cashier personally. However, the interaction felt dismissive and unwelcoming, and as a visible minority, it’s hard not to question whether bias played a role. That said, whether it was racism or not, the issue remains the same: the level of customer service was not acceptable. There was no greeting, no patience when I asked a simple question about my More Rewards card not loading, and no basic courtesy at the end of the transaction. Customers should not be made to feel uncomfortable or talked down to, especially over something as routine as a rewards lookup. We don’t work there; we rely on staff to guide us. ********* I was visiting from Vancouver and had a disappointing experience at this location. I understand St. Albert may have less diversity compared to larger cities, but it’s unacceptable to still encounter this kind of treatment in 2026. When it was my turn to pay, the cashier (Debbie) didn’t greet me and abruptly asked, “More Rewards card?” without any eye contact or basic courtesy. My card wasn’t loading on my smartwatch, so I asked if she could look it up. She simply stared at me for several seconds without responding, leaving me unsure if she needed more information. When I asked if she needed my phone number, she nodded and said “of course” in a way that felt dismissive, as if it was obvious and I shouldn’t have asked. The transaction ended with no thank you, no smile, and no sense of basic customer service. Regardless of where customers come from, everyone deserves to be treated with respect. This experience felt unwelcoming and, frankly, uncomfortable. Staff training around professionalism and cultural awareness needs significant improvement. If I could have give zero star I would.

  I like how they have a good variety of junk food and real food and I like how they had good prices on store brand and no name stuff like soda pop or chips or bread or any food that has a no name and store brand because I prefer buying store brand and no name stuff of the food and drinks that I consume to save myself money because it tastes the same as the brand named stuff and you save money if you buy the private labeled stuff and I highly recommend it if you want good privated labeled stuff at a grocery store like a 12 pack or a 24 pack of bottled water or soda pop like no name cola or lemon lime soda
