  Their hours say open til 9pm. 8:45 they are closed up, doors locked with customers still inside eating... 🙄 Wouldnt answer/open the door or answer their phone.

  This is probably one of the best burger joints out there. Went there to order and the lady who took my order was quite nice. I ordered the original Smashburger with a side of Smash-fries and the Oreo milkshake and all of it tasted simply incredible; burger was well seasoned and cooked throughout and drenched in sauces, the fries were also nicely cooked and seasoned very immaculately and the shake was well... as good as it sounds. For a total of 24.99 for it all; I'd say it's a pretty good deal. Not to mention the restaurant interior feels very cozy and old-timey; which I think only adds to the experience.

  I’ve always enjoyed this restaurant and it’s been one of my favorites for quite some time, which makes this experience especially disappointing. I stopped by about five minutes before closing to pick up food for my mom, who wasn’t able to leave the house. Unfortunately, I was told they couldn’t serve me because the grill and fryer had already been shut down, and that it would take about 30 minutes to prepare the order. I understand that closing procedures need to happen, but it was frustrating to be turned away before the posted closing time. I’ve had many great experiences here in the past, so I was disappointed by how this situation was handled.

  What happened to this place? I used to come to Smashburger in Sherwood Park all the time with my family years ago, and it was honestly one of our favourite places to eat. We would always get a classic cheeseburger, fries, and a chocolate milkshake, and every part of the meal was amazing. The burgers were always fresh and cooked perfectly, the fries were loaded up and delicious, and the milkshakes were easily the best part. Back then, the chocolate milkshakes were served in a tall sundae-style glass alongside a metal tin cup with the extra shake in it, which made it feel like you were actually getting your money’s worth. My brother doesn’t even like burgers, so he would always get a hotdog instead, and those were great too. Today, I decided to go back with a friend for some nostalgia, and unfortunately it was nothing like I remembered. Walking in, the place still looked mostly the same, which was actually pretty cool at first. But things quickly changed when we ordered. I got a classic Smashburger, fries, and a milkshake. My friend tried ordering a hotdog, only for the employee to laugh and say, “We don’t serve those.” That was confusing considering there are still pictures of hotdogs on the walls. The milkshakes came out first, and honestly that was the biggest disappointment of the entire visit. Instead of the old sundae glass and extra ice cream, they came in small plastic cups that looked more like Slurpee cups with a little whipped cream on top. And to call it a milkshake feels generous — it tasted more like thick, watered-down chocolate milk. The burgers themselves were actually still pretty good, and the fries tasted good too, but the portion sizes felt way smaller than they used to be. That really stood out considering the price. We paid close to $50 for two pretty basic meals, and it honestly felt like we got robbed a little bit. Maybe part of this is nostalgia since I hadn’t been there in 5–6 years, but it’s genuinely sad seeing how much the quality and overall experience has dropped compared to what it used to be. If the portions and quality are going to be reduced that much, the prices should reflect it too — especially when it already feels more expensive than before. Overall, not terrible food, but definitely disappointing compared to the Smashburger I remember. Probably won’t be coming back.
