We kicked off our Wedding celebration with a welcome dinner at Anejo, and they were incredible communicators, flexible, and so reasonably priced that it made the perfect welcome for everyone who could make it. We booked the lounge and bar area with our own servers, preplanned 40 drink tickets for our guests, and pre-ordered guac and chips for nibbling, while my husband and I kept a separate tab for anything extra (hello, margarita towers). The minimum was around $1500 for two hours, with about $700 of that covering our tickets and appies, and we hit it easily since most guests grabbed food and a drink or two of their own. They are of course amazing for a normal tasty dinner out but we were blown away by their special event offerings as well!

It was absolutely dead in there, but yet waited 10+ minutes to even be seen to be seated, Then waiting to be served for over 25minutes, Nobody asked if we wanted drinks, waitress was nowhere to be found for a good 15+ minutes then popped up yelling across the restaurant saying "Ill be right over" another 10minutes went by, still nothing. Just got up and left. Awful service. Won't go back.

Terrible service, the place was dead maybe 4 other guests, waiting 5 minutes to get seated when we sat down the waitress came over immediately and asked what we'd like to order we said we needed a minute, 2 minutes later she comes over and saying do you guys know what your ordering we said no not yet we still need time, she said okay put your menus on the side of the table when your ready & she disappears into the back 15 minutes go by and shes no where to be found at this time we haven't even asked if we wanted drinks yet. When she finally comes out of the back she yells at us and says ill be right there while bringing someones food to them afterwards she makes her way to our table and says oh one moment and walks away at this point we're over it and we respectfully got up and left.

Went for happy hour at 10 PM only 2 / 4 of us got water for the first 20 minutes, no ice in the water.
drinks were good, but we were very hungry at that point so who knows.
Tried my best to give my order over the loud blaring distorting music.
A usual 20 minutes before we see our server again.
Couldn’t have ordered more tacos if I wanted because it would’ve just been a waste of time.
I guess I’ll just have to order our whole tables worth of tacos in one order next time.

I was super excited to try Anejo for the first time! We ordered the tableside guac to start. While the guac was absolutely delish, the chips were such a huge disappointment. I expected house made chips served warm. That was not the case. They are, unfortunately, not made fresh in house, and definitely nothing special. We ordered the beef birria, shrimp camerone, and pork belly tacos. All were excellent, but yet again, served on tortillas that were not made fresh. Another disappointment, and very surprising for a Mexican restaurant. The shrimp tacos were probably our favorite! They were so yummy! The food could absolutely be elevated to a 5 star rating if chips and tortillas were made fresh in house! It definitely was not an authentic Mexican food experience, but it was good. The margaritas were decent, and that white hot mayo was delish. I would have bought a bottle of that to take home! Unfortunately, I doubt we would return. There are just too many better Mexican food options in Edmonton, but the rooftop patio was so nice. 😊
