I’m actually shocked at how busy this place is. Chicken and shrimp carbonara was so bad - with weird chicken texture, salad had no dressing. I tried to cover another parties portion of the bill discretely, and had to wait like 20 minutes. They then almost brought out another guests cake, and then it was another 10 minutes to find the one I brought in.
I recently visited Olive Garden and had a mixed experience.
Our initial server, Chris, was difficult to communicate with after my mom and I both ordered entrées. I clearly stated I wanted soup with my meal and my mom wanted salad, but he repeatedly kept asking the same question and insisting there would be extra charges instead of clearly confirming our order. At one point, while we were still trying to clarify, our plates were taken away, which made the situation feel rushed and uncomfortable.
It felt like there was a breakdown in communication that made what should have been a simple order unnecessarily stressful. Because of this, I eventually asked to switch servers so we could continue our meal without confusion.
After that, our experience improved significantly. Dimitryo took over our table and provided excellent service—he was attentive, clear, and made sure everything was handled smoothly. His professionalism helped turn the experience around, and I really appreciated that.
I had arrived for a marriage proposal and was given less than acceptable service and made uncomfortable to even be in the establishment. I paid for my meal and left because we were that unwelcomed. The food was subpar as it had no flavor. The only good thing was the salad, soup was too salty and happend to have been cold. Needless to say I don't think I'll be returning. I have been here many times with great service this was unacceptable especially on a special occasion.

I have been a loyal Olive Garden customer across dozens of locations, but this Calgary branch is a total embarrassment to the brand. I tried to book a team dinner, only to be told they don’t take groups and have a pathetic 6-person cap on bookings.
It is clear the manager here has absolutely no idea how to run a high-volume restaurant. How do you claim to provide "family-style" service while actively turning away teams and large parties? It’s pure laziness and a total lack of operational competence. Every other location I have visited manages large groups with ease, yet this one acts like seating seven people is a logistical impossibility. The owners of this franchise should be ashamed. You are sitting on a goldmine brand and letting it rot because your management team is too incompetent to handle basic group seating. Corporate needs to step in and pull this franchise from whoever is running it into the ground.
If you have a team, a big family, or more than 5 friends, do not waste your time here. They don’t want your business, and frankly, with this level of management, they don’t deserve it.
If you’re gluten-free eat beforehand and just order pop. Not going would be a better option, but it was my mother’s birthday so of course I’m going to attend.
They have a gluten-free menu, but they don’t offer it unless you’ve ordered the one gluten free item on the main menu.
(Most gluten-free people know to look at the menu beforehand online) This isn’t our first rodeo…but ok.
They also brought out the manager out to announce it in front of the entire room LOUDLY and made a big spectacle of it all. I’ve never been so embarrassed in a restaurant before. The manager needs to do some sensitivity training. I’m serious. That was so uncalled for.
I personally didn’t feel our waitress was spectacular. She seemed kind of annoyed with our table in general. She apologized for having to get the manager because it’s protocol, but she apologized to someone else at the table, not to me. You know the person they actually embarrassed. That is pretty dang rude.
Aside from being humiliated, the
rest of our table had to wait for them to bring their breadsticks.. they were “back ordered” apparently. They didn’t come out until we had half of our dinners.
There were too many people serving us as well, so everybody was getting confused. We were waiting on dishes to be removed from the table. Waiting for half our meals.
Just honestly one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had.
Gluten-free is not uncommon anymore. My assumption is boil their gluten-free pasta in regular water with the other pasta, so it’s not really gluten-free and they should just call their menu gluten sensitive. But even that’s a stretch if you’re not gonna do the bare minimum. I can see why there’s only one location in Calgary.
