Date of Visit: 25/02/2026
What I tried:
Appetizers - Charred Baby Gem Caesar
Mains - Ribeye (Medium Rare)
Sides - Yukon Potato Purée, Wagyu Fat Pemberton Potatoes, Sautéed Broccolini
Desserts - Dark Chocolate Soufflé
TLDR:
Favourite dish I had - The Ribeye.
What dish would I skip if I went again - The Broccolini, simply because of how good the other sides are.
Would I visit again - Absolutely, it was maybe the best place I tried on this trip.
Longer Notes:
To anyone considering it, I would heavily recommend Sidecut, I've gotten to go several times, and every time I've been it has always been the best dinner of my entire trip. That being said, it can be quite expensive (but it is definitely worth it). I am a big fan of Ribeyes, when done well they can really bring out the flavour of the fat. I think the one I had was cooked perfectly (very tender), well marbled, and better than most places I've been even in Toronto. I typically really enjoy broccoli/broccolini dishes (and this one was no exception), so it was an easy pick. Since I was with other people, I got to try a few other sides though, and in my opinion the Potato Purée was just so much better I'd easily choose that instead next time.
Extremely underwhelming. The waitstaff wasn’t experienced half of the food was cold (including meat and tempura). The servers had very little knowledge and it was extremely slow. We got the chefs tasting and it was over 250 CAD for mediocre food and subpar service. The main restaurant in the four seasons is great, but this was definitely overpriced.

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my recent dining experience at this restaurant on November 30, 2025.
My party of six and I had reserved the SIDECUT Fall Prix-Fixe Menu at $68 per person in advance of our trip to Whistler. My party and I selected the fixed price menu specifically because the price was clearly advertised as $68, with a confirmation email.
On the day of the dinner, we had one additional guest that we added to the table via your reservation system on Open Table. A confirmation was sent at 1:17 pm on November 30th (#2110087759) for seven guests, confirming a 7pm dining time; complete with the advertisement for us to enjoy the SIDECUT Signature dining with a $68 4-course prix fixe menu.
At approximately 6:30 pm on November 30th, we received a phone call from the restaurant advising us that the Fall Prix Fixe menu was not available. This call was 30 minutes before dinner, and guests had already left for the restaurant.
We asked the manager what could be done to either honor the price per person, or offer an alternative solution. The response provided was inadequate; and no corrective action offered. Upon pressing the manager, she agreed to 15% off the bill and a free dessert. With no other choice, and no other reservation at another establishment available on such short notice, we were not in a position to decline.
This restaurant was chosen because of its reputation for quality and professionalism, which is why this experience was particularly disappointing. Charging a price other than what is advertised is a serious matter. Not only is it unprofessional and misleading to customers, it undermines customer trust and violates basic standards of honest business practice.
For reference, we spent a total of $1,252.44, which included tip, bar, and a 20% discount from the manager. This is a far cry from the amount we would have spent.
Please note the food was excellent, and the staff service superb. That is not the issue here. The issue is the difference between our expectations, the confirmation, and the actual experience.
We never did get contacted by the restaurant and we still talk about this, so now we’re posting our disappointment.

Atmosphere - Dark , moody, romantic, loved it.
Service - Staff was fantastic and VERY accommodating.
Food- YIKES on flavor and texture... but looked pretty... i guess.
Came to this restaurant, back in June and they had a prix fixe menu... my boyfriend and I basically tried everything on that menu... because we sent almost everything back and swapped for alternatives... which usually ended up being soups and or salads. By the time we were ready for our mains, we decided to give up on the prix fixe menu and select steaks and desserts from their regular menu - which, helped salvage the evening.
The staff and manager was friendly, accommodating, apologetic and they even agreed with us on the quality of some of the menu items, lacking or not ending up being very popular.
I'd suggest sticking with the regular menu... pricey but atleast we actually ate it.

Wanted to love this place just because the hotel is so amazing. The service was very good and the decor was nice, but the food was disappointing. Strange fake smoke flavored deconstructed gem Caesar salad, with mayo as dressing and the sauced up and over cooked rib eye which was supposed to be just salt and pepper were both pretty off.
