Honestly this is my preferred grocery store these days! Everyone is so kind! Huge shoutout to Tyson who was working the hot foods counter this evening (April 29)! He was so polite and made sure I got the freshest food! I hope this reaches his team and he can get the recognition he deserves!

Too many expired products. Bought some Riviera yogurt and when I brought it home I noticed before eating. It had expired April 19th. 2026 I bought my groceries April 22nd. Has anyone else noticed expired products?. The Sav-On foods in colwood corners! is not busy at all. They need to get the staff to check products everyday. If you see expired stuff, take it off the shelf. I have also done online grocery shopping and picked up and it took forever for a staff member to pick up the phone this is on Friday during the week.. I literally have to go in the store and ask for my groceries when I asked. Is everything okay with the food that I got anything missing? The young girl was like I don't know. I didn't patch your groceries. The staff there have no clue. I know it's not a busy grocery store but they need to step up a bit more. The staff need to care more about the surroundings of the store! Management never see them around!! Even the staff say complain because it happens all the time. No one picking up the phone for groceries online. Get them a portable phone so if they do leave they can carry a phone around with them. They usually will say so and so was on their break. If you have a staff member going on a break, give the phone to a manager if you have one! I did notice when I picked up an online grocery on a Saturday. There was a woman staff that was very nice. And she knew what she was doing cuz she packed the groceries and picked them out! I've also noticed the fruit and the vegetables are not looking as fresh! Like the onions and the grapes, you hardly see any staff around! Go to Red Barn!!. Look at their produce and fruit. I'm going to have to go shop somewhere else because getting expired stuff. Not happy taking the time to come in and returning!

Made a delivery order with the app last night for delivery today @ 7-9 am. 9:30 and my delivery hadn't arrived. For some reason I have to order my deliveries from the colwood store. I dont live in colwood, I live in Victoria. Can't change stores. I called the 1800 # and asked about my delivery. I was told that the delivery person had decided to do the deliveries in a closer to the store first. The customer service lady on the phone was very polite and helpful.

We like this location but one specific worker seems to be the most negative and rude. Every time we encounter Dani she is always frowning and rude. Throws our groceries in the bag with no regard. Doesn’t wrap the chicken breasts but stand them up in a paper bag so that the juices come out and the bag rips. Every time like clock work. She should be replaced by another self check out machine. Also, the parking….. $65 ticket if I don’t register. Thriftys it is. What a joke this store is.

Save On Foods talks about supporting local, but their actions say otherwise. Mixing U.S. produce with Canadian and other imported produce purposefully removes transparency and prevents customers from making informed choices. Hearing about the Jim Pattison Group’s reported sale of property to ICE for a processing facility makes spending my money elsewhere a no brainer. These decisions feel disconnected from the communities this store depends on. **Update** The sale of the property did eventually collapse, but only after intense and sustained public pressure. This included planned protests at business locations across Canada, a large-scale letter-writing campaign urging Canadian MPs to investigate Canadian companies doing business with ICE, a civilian boycott of all companies owned by The Jim Pattison Group, and a formal letter from the union representing workers at a JPG grocery chain stating they would strike if the sale proceeded. A major advertising firm (Point Blank) that works with JPG also publicly announced it would sever all ties with JPG companies if the deal went through. At the local level, residents of Hanover County, Virginia - the site of the property - flooded a town hall meeting to voice their outrage at the prospect of such a facility being opened in their community. This public response led the Board of Supervisors to vote down the proposed use of the building and to issue a statement to state and federal representatives opposing the sale. Only after all of this - two days after the town hall in Hanover - did JPG release a single-line statement confirming the deal would not proceed: “The transaction to sell our industrial building in Ashland, Virginia will not be proceeding.” They were willing to do the business and profit from an unthinkable deal… just not willing to be seen doing it.
