Customer service has gone down hill over there! Who pays your wages? Over the top prices for terrible customer service.

One of the most disgusting fridges I've ever seen by the door - the fan was caked in mould. Many of the other fridges didn't look much better. On top of that, the cashiers are oddly hostile when you walk up to a till without following their signs, even when the store is empty. And, the prices are bad too. Shame there aren't more grocery stores in downtown but avoid this one if you can.

After decades of shopping at this store, I stopped. The store is incredibly expensive! The prices are double, if not more than some other places. The produce hasn't been very fresh for a few years. Some moldy, and prices are still super high. Fruits have flies around them, and the bakery items taste stale and old. Not much selection overall at the store. There are a couple nice ladies that have been employed there for many years at cash desk, and they are friendly as they recognize that I have been a long time customer, but other than that, the rest are not friendly or helpful if you have a question. They don't even welcome their customers or make eye contact. It's like they don't appreciate their employment. The lineup for the cash register is ridiculous at times, and not well setup. There was a creepy security guard that I use to see all the time, and he would grunt and make creepy sounds when I would walk by. I wanted to call the police on him, as it was so gross, the sounds he would make and things he whispered. I think as customers, we needed to bring our own security guard to help protect us from this one security guard that worked there. I think they did get rid of him because customers made complaints. I do my shopping at another business now, and it's so nice to go into a store that is clean, organized, has great selection, fresh produce, meats, and much more reasonable prices. The staff is friendlier and I just feel more comfortable shopping there. This is just my personal experience and my friends and neighbors feel the same. Nesters needs to do better so that they don't lose their customers. As far as this "Canadian owned and operated" thing that almost all businesses are using now...well, that's great, I support Canadian businesses, but I've learned that it's basically a marketing tool that businesses use. It's no different than what businesses did during the pandemic. Specifically the restaurants/bars/smoothie shops, etc... They wanted locals to support their businesses and keep them afloat, and also adding the ridiculously high automatic tipping systems at almost every business you can think of! Pass on the costs to the customers. Once the pandemic was over, those very same businesses, went back to their precious tourist customers and treated locals like they didn't matter anymore. Now, we see the Canadian owned and operated thing. Another marketing gimmick. Yeah, but what about the prices? What about the lack of customer service? I know Canadian citizens, that can't get Canadian jobs because allot of those businesses are hiring others instead. I don't think that's very Canadian. Think about that....
